Hey guys,

Picked up the the new CM9 today....what a good looking solid micro 9mm. I have a good feeling about it. Very impressed at how highly polished the feeding ramp is. (Don't remember my P9 last year looking like this) Think I'm meant to have the smaller model in 9mm. Already cleaned, lubed, hit the cleaning hole with jocko spray LOL and cycled about 100 times.
Question: The recoil spring is a Partially captured dual recoil spring. Hope my terminology is correct. My point is....you gotta put the opened ended spring into the hole in the slide just right otherwise the end loop of the spring can actually stick out! (just learned that, LOL)
OK now the question.....anyone ever had their spring break while firing? (I'm not looking for issues jocko! LOL) Just curious.....this has happened even to Glocks (mainly the potent G27s)
And, I assume this is the exact same spring as used in the PM9 (for when replacement time comes around.

I've never heard of the spring breaking. I have heard of the captive little nut keeper on the end of the captive spring working loose and getting lost. Not often. I just check mine periodically to make sure its not finger loose.
Most just replace the outer recoil spring when the time comes and just leave the inner one as is.
I'm pretty sure you'll want the new style recoil spring which is a tad longer but I'd leave that up to Kahr. Theres only one version of the CM so they'll know the right one. Sadly I believe Kahr quit selling the individual spring and now insist on selling the complete assembly.
I don't think Wolff is making that longer spring yet either but maybe with luck they will before you time comes in 1500 rounds or so.

Thanks Bawanna, you answered my question so thoroughly you covered something I didn't even ask yet. (Wolff) LOL
Got a good feeling about this little CM9! Gonna try to hit the range Fri. or this weekend!

I always put that open end of the spring away from the barrel so it would be on the bottom. I believe CJB recently determined that was a good thing also as his spring was trying to poke out.

As I recall one of the kahr techs recommended that long ago. I've always done it that way, I couldn't ever remember why, somebody must have told me too.

Hey, I'll try that next time. Thanks! When I first reassembled it, the open end spring coil was sticking out the hole in the slide! I was like.....oh no! Not issues already! I haven't even made it to the range yet! Thanks again, I see what you're saying...open end of the spring on the bottom away from the barrel. Gotcha.

You are going to love that little baby CM9. It is a pleasure to carry it in any way you want because is so little and light that it doesn't border at all.

So far I've put only about 255 rds and it has been excellent. I hope it'll continue to be like this for the next few thousands rds that will come through it little by little in the future.

It doesn't seem to have the fitment problem others have had. It did not go on quite as easily as my Elsie (no snap, click, done), but it's on . I've dialed it in with the sights at 20 feet, but we"ll see what the range says about it the next couple days. Fits great in my little Blackhawk #3

Thanks Jocko. The plastic matches up in color and texture perfectly.

I was on the fence, but I became a big fan of the CT when I had an LCP. Great if you couldn't use your sights and had to draw and not even have time to point. That said, I will still shoot at the range using my sights as well.
