What is interchangeable between the two?? I have a PM9 with the external safety (I know a lot aren't a fan of it but whatever) and wanted to know what it would be to make the PM40 have the same external safety if its even possible. Just out of curiosity.

CAN'T BE DONE forget about it, nothing wrong with an external safety IMO, ur choice, u can have it on or off. in my case my PM9 doesn't give me a choice..

Nice gun,,

Okay I figured it was worth asking. I carry a .40 daily for duty and the PM9 as a backup in my pocket. It sure is a nice looking gun too. For the price I think it should be!

I'm curious about that combination. Why 2 different calibers? Since the guns are so close in size and weight why not have another 40 as a backup?

My guess would be control-ability.
I have a CW40 and it does have a little bounce to it.
I just picked up a CM9 and it's a very pleasant gun to shoot.
Even tho the CW40 is a larger gun, I seem to shoot the CM9 better.

9mm is way cheaper to shoot!

Its for personal use. We carry a .40 Glock. I could've gotten a PM40 and shot issued ammo for personal but wanted another 9mm as I already had a S&W custom. This made it smaller and lighter for pocket carry with the addition of another round. Not to mention the addition of an external safety for just toss in the pocket and go peace of mind.
