Took the cw40 to the range at lunch today first time since I purchased it sunday. So when I got the gun I cleaned it real good ,lubed it and racked the slide about 100 times. At the range I shoved 200rnds through it in about 40mins ,this gun ran almost flawlessly Id say 99% flawlessly cause out of 200 rnds I had 1 ftf after 150rnds or so and all I had to do is rerack the slide to fix it .I didnt have my glasses on so my site were alittle blurry but it still shot pretty accurate once I got used to the trigger .So my final feeling on this gun is it will be my primary carry gun unless the k40 I just put on layaway shoots better. The recoil was crisp and quick but very controlable. I was alittle worried about this gun after reading all the problems some people have on this forum but in the end all was good. :D

My CW40 has become my favorite OWB carry gun. It's thinner and lighter than my M&P c 40, CS45, or STI Escort. So far it's been 100% and I shoot it pretty well.

Yup all is well for sure. It'll only get better as you keep shooting it. Gonna be a tough call between the CW and the K. The CW wins in the weight dept but the K is a pretty beautiful thing to behold. At least you got both so you can rotate or carry both as needed.
Kind of a nice thing, if the right one don't get ya then the left one will buda bump.........

About how much better will trigger weight/smoothness get. Iwould like to see if there is a way to get a lb or so off the weight if possible.

The rest of ya correct me if I'm wrong but you can put a 5# striker spring in it and that will accomplish just that. I did that on my PM45.
I suspect as you shoot it more and it smooths out you'll get along fine with it as is. I measured mine with a scale when I put the 5# spring in and it was light but not monumentally different in feel to my finger. Better but not huge.

can you get that spring from kahr or an aftermarket supplier and how difficult is it to replace.

I think MW Surveyor or maybe it was Tucson? ordered an extra for me and I believe they came from Wolff but I'm not positive. Jocko will know.
It's relatively easy to replace. In the Tech section GB has a nifty thread that talks about polymer tricks and repairs. I believe theres some good pictures and a walk thru on how to dissasemble the top end.
Make use of the little homemade bent coat hanger, it's a real saviour. If you've ever gone inside a glock it's very similar with just a few minor little twist. Springs want to jump out at ya a little more readily than a glock.

wolffs sells the 5# striker spring, a breeze to install, no modification involved. there is a thread on the kahr tech sight on slide disassembly, follow it and it is a 5 minute thing.
Now if ur gonna order that 5# striker spring for the postage and handling involved order a 3 pak of wolffs 5% extra magazine strength for you kahr magazines. They are super and well worth the price . they also drop right in.
