Interesting that I don't see ANY recoil.

He does a fine job of leaning into it and holding it down. I can attest first hand that many ceilings have been ventilated when that bad boy comes back over your head.
You can see the guy prep himself prior to lighting it off. He did really good. Bet he hit the target well too.

A chief of a nighboring agency shot one that one of his officers had and he was a big guy, probably 6'6" at least and big. It walked straight up over his head before he could think about stopping it.

An MP5 will do the same if you don't lean into it and it of course is a much larger platform.

It does make a pile of brass in a hurry don't it.

Having shot the 18 a few times, if you lean into it and lock your elbows, there's really very little felt recoil. it's just too fast. with my mp5 on full, it's a blast. i feel a little more recoil when i shoot my coworker's ump (.40) on full. now, when we shoot a 30 rd mag on our m16s on full, there is definately felt recoil there. a full auto g36 is easier to control than the m16.

aww, bawana beat me to it about the lean in.

now, if HK ever made a .357sig barrel for the UMP, I'd be the first one to tell the chief, order me that!

I've seen many guys fall over anticipating the fire from both the M16 and the 18's. Lean it counting on it to hold you up and it lets you down. Awkward.

We have two M14 full autos we use for parade rifles. Now you definitely want to lean in heavily on those puppies. The ultimate rock and roll.

Like Chowser said, if you know it's coming and your ready for it, it's not a big deal, the MP5 is genuinely pleasant if your ready for it.

A pistol will always be easier than a shoulder fired gun. I have a 30 30 contender with a 10" barrel and it's much more pleasant than a 94 hitting your shoulder.

Lets all get 18's and compare notes.

Oh, I can't have one, civilian office puke.
