I'm starting to wonder if I screwed up. I've been wanting a smaller handgun for hot weather carry so I sold my Golck34 and ordered a Kahr CW9 from Buds Gun Shop yesterday now Ive been reading all the problems and complaints with what seem to be quite a few Kahr models. I was led to believe Kahrs were one of the top, now I'm kinda worried, I guess time will tell?

Don't do any worrying until you got something to worry about. We usually only read about the problem ones which I still think are far and away in the minority.
Most will run perfect right out of the box.
Since you gotta wait anyhow, you might as well study up in the tech section, the lube chart and the proper prep guidelines for your new Kahr.
There's links here to owners manuals which most old kahr owners highly recommend you read. There are things that will explain stuff you might needlessly worry about.
The CW is a great gun, far less issues than some of the others.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get it and start shooting it. If your not, theres a bunch of here to help you do what needs to be done to make it perfect!
Welcome.

You didn't screw up. IMHO the KAHR CW9 is one of the very best overall values in the whole handgun world. Since this is a main site for Kahr owners, you might tend to see a skewed percentage of problems and complaints 'cause 1) this is a good place for anyone to get help with them and 2) if someone just googles "Kahr problems" they might end up here in a flash... and vent a bit. What to do?... No manufacturer bats 100%... And any machine can occasionally need a little fixin' or tweakin'... It's in the nature of things. There are a lot of resources on this site.
Most of us love our Kahrs and find them VERY reliable and low-maintenance... Sometimes we'll come on here and report "Yep, my Kahr was GREAT at the range again today"... But usually we won't report that (cause it's a little boring). My CW9 has been problem-free since round one and it's one of my very favorite guns.
Anyhow, welcome!
The internet forums are like storm drains (aka sewers) in that the debris always floats to the top. You'll always see disproportionate numbers of "situations" in forums.
Kahr makes thousands of guns a year. Almost all have no problems. Don't sweat it.
And.... Sig has their problems lately, as does Glock, as did Ruger (they're over it, it seems). All the manufacturers have an issue or two from time to time, and they deal with 'em. Kahr is no different. Hell, I loved my PM45, it had an issue, they fixed it, I still love it. Life is good, quit worrying!

Welcome to the forum. The CW9 seems to have a pretty good record. I have a CW40 and CW45, the .40 has had no problems, and the .45 had to go back to Kahr, but was back in my hands in a week working perfectly. So if you do have problems the customer service is pretty good, in my experience at least.

My CW9, also purchased from Bud's a few months ago, has worked flawlessly. I believe you will be surprised how reliable & accurate this pistol is once you get it cleaned out, and get a few hundred rounds down range. Good luck!

Breathe deep, GM. You have to wait until you at least shoot it to have any buyer's remorse!!

It's a good gun. I'm a S&W guy and my CW9 (purchased about 1-2 months and 700+ rounds ago) has become very reliable. Keep it clean, lubed and read many of the break-in period sections of this forum and, of course, put lots of ammo through it. You'll be happy with the purchase.
I now carry mine on a regular basis and it disappears IWB. I carry a spare mag too. Very happy camper.

I just ordered a CW9 and I'm not concerned at all. In fact I on the edge of my seat waiting for it to get here! I'm a gearhead kinda guy and I fully understand that some things need a little breaking in. My FNP-40 was a little glitchey when I first got it, after locking the slide back for a week (recommended on fnforums.net) and a few hundred rounds the gun functions flawlessly and is a joy to shoot. Dont worry until you have something to worry about.

My CW9 is my favorite handgun. I can shoot it better than any other gun I have in a relatively respectable caliber. It has also been flawless since day one which was several hundreds of rounds ago. Never even one problem with the pistol. By the way, mine was TIGHT, TIGHT, TIGHT when I got it. Clean and lube it good, rack the slide a bunch of times before you go out the first time, and you will like it.

Welcome to KahrTalk!
Way to early to be having "buyer's remorse". Much more likely you'll get a CW9 without issues than one with issues.
