Hello everybody,

Well I'm back in the fold and my first post. Years back I owned a P9 and loved it, and for some dumb reason I sold it.

I just picked a P45 and loving life. Had the typical failures during break in and after 150 rounds the failures stopped. I must say this pistol is accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I am still getting use to the trigger, as I am use to the trigger on my Walther PPS.

Great to be part of this fine forum.

Welcome, I've got a CW45 and like you, I love it. It's the perfect balance of concealablity and firepower.

Welcome to the forum and glad you got reacquainted with Kahr pistols. I have three, the CW9, CW45 and the PM9. All are 100% reliable and very accurate, in fact they are pritty much boring to shoot. I go to the range a couple times a month with anyone of my Kahr’s and before I know I’ve gone through a couple hundreds rounds of ammunition. The only problem I have with my Kahr’s is deciding on any given day which one I’m going to carry.

Not knowing which Kahr to carry. Isn't that a terrible position to be in?:D

Welcome back to the fold! Continued good luck with your new Kahr.

Thanks a lot guy. ;) I say I'm all done buying handguns but every now and then I'll read a post like yours and be reminded I don't have a .45. I'll sometimes lust after a 1911 but will quickly come to my senses knowing that I'd not likely carry the gun much. I've found myself several times comparing specs for the PM45, P45, CW45 and Glock 36. Spec wise I don't care for the PM45. The other three I like spec wise and feel that they'd be guns that would see carry.

Well I just took a deep breath and asked myself if I really NEED a .45. The answer is - no I don't! I've promised myself to never ever again read posts about .45 ACP handguns, Kahrs in particular.

Bill I fear that you have the bug. There is but one cure: get one.

Well I just unholstered my Cbob 1911 45 and put it in the box on my desk as is my routine. My PM45 is resting comfortably on my ankle as is it's custom.
I just about brought one of my Para 1911 45's today just for a change in routine but felt like going with my old favorite.
Then I stumbled on this thread about a man without a 45. I feel like a glutton.

A man without a 45! A man without a 45 is, well a man without a 45. Kind of sad when you think about it.

What spec didn't you care for on the PM45 by the way Bill. (oh he's the man without the 45 YET.) You got large hands. How big an ole boy are you? Perhaps I should be more respectful. Actually I know I should be.
How big an ole boy are you SIR???

If I were expecting respect would I be frequenting KahrTalk? :)

PM9 would I believe be to big for me to pocket carry. So, carrying AIWB I might as well go with the longer barreled CW45 or P45. Plus with standard mags both guns match the round count/capacity of my P3AT and PM9. For ankle carry I suspect that the PM9 would be a good choice. [But none of this really matters because I not going to get a .45 of any flavor. There I've said it again.]

I try to give respect whereever I go, even here, not always successfully.
You have excellent will power my friend. I've often thought that AIWB would benefit from a shorter barrel so when you sit down the barrel isn't poking you in the leg but maybe even the CW and P's are short enough not to be an issue. I've never carried in that position so I'm far from an authority on that one.
I sometimes even feel the need to own guns that I know won't get carried very much if ever. It's a sickness apparently that I don't put any effort into finding a cure for.

You will end up with a 45 as soon as one drops down in front of you for a price you cant refuse.

Sure you do. Of my 12 active pistols, 7 are 45's. Two, the CS45 and STI Escort, are only 22 ozs and the stolen PM45 was even smaller and lighter than that, so they are easy to carry. In fact the largest and heaviest at 30 ozs is the FS SA 1911, and I have even carried that one OWB. I have three 40's and have warmed up to that round, but if I have to seriously shoot at something, I prefer the 45 ACP.

I hear you. Low vs. medium vs. high ride holster and cant, if any, makes a difference. The CW45 is only .03" longer in length than my Glock 26. Being a thin guy just the thought of IWB @ 3 o'clock on my bony hip drives me crazy yet I know folks who carry in that position and think nothing of it.

Guess it boils down to different strokes for different folks.

Welcome to the forum Cmek. I started off with a CW40, which has been a great gun and my usual carry piece. I found a great price on a CW45, one of those too good to pass up deals and ordered it. It had some problems and went back to Kahr, and was back in my hands exactly 1 week later, and now functions perfectly. I added a Crimson Trace Laser to it while they have their $50 rebate going on, and the .45 will become my preferred carry piece once I get a couple hundred more trouble free rounds down range. That laser really limits the holster choices available, but I think I've found a couple that will work.
