I recently purchased a CW 9 for my "go to" gun for year round carry. I've been shooting for 40 years and have been a police officer for 30. I have custom 1911's ,Glocks,Smith and Wesson's and others.I found its easy to conceal a 1911 and 2 mags in the winter but last week the temps were in the high 90's. I wanted a gun that would fit a certain criteria. It had to be accurate and reliable. Proven stopping power .And practice ammo that wouldn't break the bank. I settled on the CW 9. I've found the 40 hurts after a while and wouldn't want to do a shooting school or a 200 round practice session with one. I went to the range today after the"prep" instructions. 150 rounds without a hick-up. One minor issue it shoots a little left ,but the rear sight is slightly left of center. Assorted ball ammo was used including a vintage box of S&W 115 gr ball. I'm a happy camper! :D

Welcome to KahrTalk and thank you for your 30 years of service.
Continued good luck with your CW9.
Is the rear sight on the CW9 dove tailed (I've got the PM9)? Is there an armorer in your department that can center the rear sight for you?
As a civilian, for SD purposes, I've no qualms about carrying a nine with decent HP ammo. Even the lowly .380, with good shot placement, can save the day.

I am the department armorer and that issue has been resolved. The .380 was considered but practice ball is pricey 22.00 a box. Another plus on the 9 m/m side is the variety of bullet weights and brands. It will be alot easier to find one load that it favors.

I really do need to improve my writing skills. I should have made myself more clear. I wasn't trying to promote the .380 over the nine but rather trying to underscore the effectiveness of the 9mm. [I probably still haven't made myself clear. :)]

I've put another 200 rounds thru it without a hitch. Also included JHP from Winchester ,Speer and Federal. Looking to get either a .380 of .45 . Haven't decided
