Is it just me or does kahrtalk seem slow loading to you guys?
The initial website loads quickly but subsequent pages are really slooow.
Have the same problem on two different machines and three different browsers.
I don't have the problem with other websites. They all load normally.

I had that a couple weeks ago about the time the malware notice popped up but it seems to be back to normal for me now. It was bloody slow there for awhile.
I'm told we're clean again so being the computer dummy I am I'm clueless to what could cause your issue if it continues.

squirt some brake cleaner in the cleanout hole, three key it 500 times and you'll be good to go.

Hadn't thought about the brake cleaner thing.
I've tried everything else that I know (which ain't much) but things are still at a crawl on this website only???
I'll try to find that clean out hole.

DVD tray? Is that the same thing as the cup holder?

jocko

yes, everyone knows that. my computer didn't come with the cup holder, it was extra and I told them I don't drink and compute at the same time, so I saved a few bucks..

If you keep the cup holder properly lubed (see sticky in the tech section for the lube chart) it is possible to crush beer cans when the close button is pushed. However a mini tower can only hold about 18 cans therefore a mid or full tower is recommended for this feature.

Hey John!

I miss the that "Lobby" page, or whatever it was called, too. However, if it was causing issues for others, I can live without it.

FWIW, my particular combination of operating systems (XP, Vista, and Windows7 on various machines) and browsers (IE 7, 8, and FireFox 3.xxx) was, and still is performing "normally" at KahrTalk.com and most other message board sites.

Keep up the good work, sir!

All the best,

TucsonMTB

Whew! I thought I was losing my mind, TuscsonMTB, about the missing lobby page. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who hadn't seen it.

FWIW, I've not been having loading issues with KT.

Johns working on it. The hosting company had to do some work and they apparently neglected to put that first page back up. Should happen sometime tomorrow.

Everything should be back like it was hopefully tomorrow.

Hey John!

I'm seeing the message below fairly often this morning when using FireFox 3.5.17, most recently at this URL: http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=78568#post78568 . . . which then proceeded to load normally in IE . . . go figure.

I get the 503 message sometimes as well. I normally have to log out, and close the page down for 30 min and it comes back up. Don't really know why it does it, but it does.

Thanks, John. Sure is nice to get back to the familiar/comfortable things in life. Now I'm starting to sound like some of you old guys.....er, well-seasoned veterans. :boink::israel:

Hey, gagnejs8! Good catch! :D Thanks for sharing!

Logging out worked for me too. I noticed a message that the log out process clears all cookies, so it could have been older cookies that were no longer valid for the new server configuration. Warning: The previous statement is pure conjecture and probably not correct.

Probably good conjecture. I dont know nothing from nothing but whenever I have an issue John tells me to clear my cookies, whatever a cookie might be. I made my crystal ball clear em whenever I log off. Cookies not good. Cookies bad. Wife doesmake a pretty awesome chocolate chip. Bad cookies.
