I have often heard that if you leave your magazines loaded that over time they will take a set resulting in malfunctions. If this is true, how long does it take for a magazine spring to take a set?

pure b. s. load um up and just shoot it like u stole it. If u feel paranoid about it, just make a point the first of every year to change allthe mag springs. They are inexpensive. New spirngs will take a set BY DESIGN, so becuase u put them in themagazinetoday and a week later take um out and notice they are shorter than new, means nadda, they will take a set by design even without any rounds resting in the magazine.
I bet there are some WWII 1911 magazines still wrapped in cosmoline that are perfect if needed..

Wolff makes Kahr springs and sells +5% springs for the 9mm and the .40. So far no support for the P380 or the .45's.
Read the F.A.Q.s and check the prices for 1, 3, or 10 Kahr springs... cheaper replacements.

I only use the wolffs 5% more strength mag springs. That might not sound like alot but in my little feeble mind they are a better spring and should work the slide lock lever alot faster, as when that follower finally gets up to the top of the magazinetube, that mag spring is at its weakestpoint so that 5% might just be the difference in proper slide lockingopen, for after all it is all about timing with these guns..
They are really cheap in price to buy and at leaSt get a 3pAK.

I have heard the same thing.
I keep both my Kahr mags loaded to the brim 24/7. I also change out the mag springs once a year, just before fall. They are cheap at Wolf.

I'm wondering if the stiffness of the mag springs is contributing to the frtb problems that people are having during the break in period. It's probably a good thing that they weaken over time.
