Just stopped by to say hello.
I am a regular poster on the Glock talk forum, m1911 forum, 1911forum.com and others.
I will be picking up my first Kahr PM9 Saturday. I am planning on shooting CCI Blazer aluminum case fir break in ( I am a regular Steel competitor & shoot CCI aluminum Blazer in my Glocks).
Any info on using this ammo in my PM9 would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

Go for it! You should be good to go with aluminum. Just avoid steel-cased ammo.
Best of luck and Welcome to the forum!
We will be interested in seeing a range report and even pictures when it suits your mood and schedule.

Gary--see the stickies in the Kahr-Tech section, especially this one...

There is some break in required on the little gun, but taking the steps in the link above will eliminate 99% of the new-gun stiffness. You will love the PM9. I have a PM40 and a CM9, both are 100% good guns.
I got my first 1911 today, field stripped and checked it over, then shot 150 rounds, cleaned it, and am a happy camper. Almost as happy with it as my CM9! Welcome to the forum here and congrats on a great little firearm.

a very friendly and informative forum. Kahrs are not ammo sensitive. they will shoot anything u can feed it. For range fodder I buy WWB at wal mart for under $20 with my wifes discount. I shoot the cheapest priced ammo I can buy for range fodder.
definitely look up the sticky that Joe L. ask u to do. the kahr lube chart also is excellent. dust off your vault shelf, as ur glocks are gonna take a back seat after you shoot and handle that PM9

Hi Gary, welcome to KahrTalk!
Best of luck with your new PM9.
Recently got a PM9 myself and can tell you its a fine pistol. Its my "tweener". Fits between my pocket .380 and my Glock 26 in my carry rotation/system. May change in fall and winter but now I'd say the PM9 is getting the most carry time.

Gary:
welcome
I don't believe there are many hard core competition people here but we do shoot some.
I think there's a probation period for anyone admitting to being a glocktalk member.
Bawanna will come along and explain it, and assign an officer to review your posts.
I'm kidding...welcome,

As far as maligning room in my safe, I think that it will be easier just to get a bigger safe:D

Well, so I picked up my New PM-9 in Black and followed the instruction given above (well almost all instructions):D
I shoot at the Palm Beach Shooting Center, in Lake Worth, Florida. A great range and a nice group of gun folks working there.
As some of you might or might not know, it is also the home to Millennium Custom Guns (specialists in 1911 & 2011 carry & competition guns).
The first think that I did, after paying, was to strip down the guns and proceed to clean and oil the gun (as per above).
The next Item says to rack the slide about 500 times:eek:, Well I did rack the slide but only 5 times;)
Into the range with 200 rds of CCI Blazer Aluminum 115 gr and a target.
The target was first set to 7 yards and 50 rds fired (what a pain with only 2 mag's).
The target than went out to 10 yards for 50 rds to the head and than 50 rds to the left elbow.
ok, so you are saying, welllllll. The first thing to report is that this gun is a BLAST to shoot!
Next, there was NOT A SINGLE ERROR IN 150 rds. No FTF, FTE, STOVE PIPE, ETC.
Just fill the mag and shoot it out...It was great (like shooting a GLOCK:001_tt2:)
Where are the photo's...well here they are:

LAST 50 rds AT 10 YARDS

I figured that I would save some rds for Sunday shooting (maybe an other 150 rds.
Q- Does anyone know if the mag marked MK-9 will work in a PM-9?
This is my story and I am sticking to it. Thanks for reading

The mag will work. From the looks of your targets I'd say either this was your first range session or perhaps you got one with a bent barrel.
All mine cover a lot more area when I shoot em. Not sure why your's is stuck in such a tight little group.
Maybe with some more range time, a vise and a pipe wrench you can get that thing dialed in.
Good luck.

Yes, you are correct, this was my first range session :blushing:(of the day) and I will stop by Home Depot in the morning and pick up a bench vice and pipe wrench (what size do you recommend):33::33:

Get the biggest size they got. These Kahr barrels are tough and hard to straighten.
Guess I'm fortunate that mine were all ok out of the box. Large groups, lots of coverage. Actually I like to call it a pattern rather than a group.
Thats quite a nice menu you got on your signature line, nice.

Thanks, just three highlights and running out of room. It allows me to change from time to time.
But my true love is Steel Competition and 38 Super.
I am currently using a G17 with Custom lower done by Boresight Solutions (in Limited) and my "Green Hornet" Open gun in 38Super.
I might also start competing in 22 using an Advantage Arms 22 upper on a Lone Wolf G17 Lower (size).
But I have this problem, all of my shots seem to go through the same hole:D, or do they:confused:.
Anyway, The PM9 will shortly become my EDC and will switch off with my G26.
Love this little gun, just after 1 session.....

Just don't ever compete with Jocko. That man has some of the smallest one shot groups on record. Amazing. Sometimes they even hit the black spot.

Hi Bawanna,
I took your advise and got the largest pipe wrench and vise that I could find, picked up a new 6 Rd mag and went into the range with my tools.
As you can see the first group of rounds fired went all over the place as you suggested. A get that shotgun look:boink: nice but not for me.. It took another box to get the bar ell straight again and now back into that one hole:D
Thanks and you are all great and have some great info on this site.

Well thats alot better than it was. You might want to tweak it a bit more to open it up some. Maybe we could get Kahr to put interchangeable choke tubes on these babies.
Troube with them tiny little patterns is what if you miss what your aiming at. 25 shots in one hole and they all miss. Go for the larger pattern.
That's why I like fat 45 bullets too, wider, better chance of maybe hitting something.

Gary--congrats on some great shooting and a fine weekend! We all knew you were going to like the little gun. Now go shoot some steel silhouettes at 50yards and wow the crowd!
Seriously, I have shot (at) steel hogs at 50 yards with a PM40. Challenging, but not impossible. Harder than with a 1911.
