Hi zhills, welcome to the forum. Did you purchase a Kahr, or are you looking to purchase one? No matter, welcome.

Hi thetmanski,
I just bought a new CM9 from Bud's Gunshop. I have been waiting for them to come back in stock, and Buds just sent me an email that the CM9 was back in stock So I purchased it this morning $430.00.
I have a CCW Florida, and currently carry a Ruger LCP .380, but after a couple of failures to eject, it has shaken my confidence as a primary carry
weapon. I may try replacing the LCP recoil springs with some wolff springs. I also belong to the elsie pea forum.

Welcome Carl. I don't know where Zepher Hills is or anything about your water. Back in day though, I did some cave diving in Northern Florida and that was some of the cleanest, clearest fresh water I've ever seen.

Hi Willieboy
I was a certified cave diver for many years, I was trained by Gene Broom in
Branford, FL. Dived with many cave divers like the McKenzie's, Wes Skiles, and many others, my deepest trimix dive was eaglesnest 240' but the decompression was very long and almost not worth it. but I always loved it. Still have all my cave diving gear, but don't dive anymore, all my cave diving buddies got married, and their wifes won't let the do it any more;)

Wow Carl, your cave diving experience exceeds mine by far. When I was active, compressed air was the only option available. As a Chicago native, most of my diving was in the Great Lakes on shipwrecks. My cave diving (if you can even call it that) was done in about 1974-75 in Jug Hole Springs, Kings Spring and the Blue Grotto, all well suited to the novice. The Blue Grotto was technically an advanced ledge dive versus a cave dive.
Back then I remember Ginnie Springs as being a favorite among cave divers but I never got there.
Question, when breathing Trimix, was a special regulator needed? I followed the equipment used by cave divers in making my equipment decisions. I think there was a guy named Tom Mount (though I could be wrong) at that time who was highly regarded as a very well qualified cave diver. Anyway, that led me to the ScubaPro MkVI which was a variation of the MKV. It was an excellent regulator in its day.

Yes, I have meet Tom Mount, but have never dived with him, I dove Ginnie Springs many times, A beautiful system, My sister lives there in High Spings Fl. also Peacock Springs, Madison Blue. All gorgeous dives, but trecherus and fatal if you make a mistake. One of my favorites though was
a spring called Little River. One of the most Beautiful. I probably have more than 200 dives there. But does not exceed 130', so always dived Nitrox there, because most of those dives were between 2 and three hours long, Nitrox cuts way down on the decompression penalties.
Never needed special regulator for trimix, the mix is just helium, oxygen, nitrogen. The helium offsets the oxygen content to bring down the oxygen pecentage to 17% for the depth we were diving at 240'. The key in trimix is to keep the partial pressure of oxygen to about 1.4 partial pressure.
Well to keep on topic of the Kahrtalk forum, I can't wait until my new CM9
gets here. I am going to use it to replace my Ruger LCP .380 as my primary
CCW weapon.
Best Regards,
Carl
