Got out this afternoon with the CM9 I picked up Saturday and put 150 rounds through it before dark. Cleaned it up and did the prep work Saturday. I wanted to post for those interested in the CM9 and how it functions.

Overall good results. shoots well, recoil is very managable, I like this gun so far. Accurate too. 50 shots at 10 yards to a paper plate yielded probably 90% on the plate.

There were 2 different quirks in 3 events that I will list:

Quirk 1. Twice the mag dropped out a little after a round was fired and did not pick up the next round. I had to tap it back in. I believe it was after the first round so I may not have had it seated good. I don't think I hit the mag release with my thumb. First time was in the first 50 rounds with Federal Champion and the second time was sometime after that with PMC ammo. This did happen once or twice also when I had my CW9. I figure this is operator error somewhere.

Quirk 2. I have never had this one happen before with a kahr. After firing a few rounds I pulled the trigger and no bang :2eek:. The slide picked up the next round but did not go fully into battery. I hit the back of the slide with my palm and it went into battery and fired OK. It was on the 2nd box of ammo (PMC) that this happened. I have fired hundreds of rounds of PMC without event in the past since I got a lot on sale one time. This has happened with a LCP one time.

The next 50 rounds of the 150 went off perfect and actually I played around with point and shoot at 25 yards and I think I could learn to do that if I had the time to practice and the money for the ammo. I thought about running it up to 200 for the day but darkness was setting in, I was weary, and I figured I'd clean it up for the next trip out.

One other good note is I loaded up a mag with my SD ammo that I used to carry in my CW9 and it fed and fired well through the CM9.

I need to get out and run some more rounds through to make sure that it's loosened up and I'm used to it and then this gun will ride with me a lot. I'm glad I got this one so far. I'll post results after the next trip for anyone that may be on the fence about getting one. So far I would give it thumbs up and say go get one.

Slide not going fully home... could be ammo related, or ammo caused. That is to say, a little out of spec ammo, a little grunge in the wrong spot, a little rough spot still wearing down, etc. etc. etc. And you had fail to lock issue. Very hard to pin point after the fact, and since you shot the round... nobody will ever know for sure. Happens again, clear the round, maybe it will have something to say for itself.

Nice report, Mr. yqtszhj!

Glad to hear you are doing well. You sound like an experienced shooter who knows what he is doing.

Welcome to the forum! I believe you are going to be an asset to the group. :D
