Interested in different sights for my new CM9, that has been perfect so far. Have only run 120 rounds and no mess ups at all. Does anyone make night sights from the CM9, and if so, how hard are they to replace, etc., I know that they are pinned and this is my first gun with sights pinned. Appreciate the info, new to Kahr, but have been reading lots on this forum. Thanks!!

Check out Dawson Precision, they make some really nice sights. They are steel and they are very easy to replace and they provide instructions and tools to do it. The rear might be a different story as the dovetails can sometimes be really tight.
Any of the CW sights will fit your CM so what ever is on the Kahr site for those will also fit.

my suggestion is to just buy the dawson front sights, they match up in proper height withthe cm9 back sight and will save alot of head aches.

I have already put the rear sight from the Kahr website on the rear of my CM9 and am waiting for my Dawson Precision 019-059 front sight. You can get both front and rear from Dawson Precision, however. I don't have the number for the rear sight from Dawson.

I'm going to check out Dawson Precision myself! I have been wondering about night sights for my CM9 also!

I agree :D That's what I did and it was easy to do. They also make a steel black front sight and a fiber optic sight. Mine is the night sight.

Here's the DP rear and a fiber optic front. Really like them.
Sorry for the fuzz . . .

Wow! Competition sights on a CM9. Tell those CZ, M&P, Beretta and Glock shooters they got competition coming at the matches!

Dawson's sights are of excellent quality, better than the one's from Kahr. I only changed the front one, just make sure you have so lock-tite, they don't supply that

I think the front sight is really all that is needed to change even and u can't pick a better sight than Dawson.. some people tend to knock the staked kahr fron sight but the plus side of it is that if you had the dovetailed version like the pM9 has, u would have extreme difficulty getting that sight to move let alone the ease on installing a new sight. Normally a sight pusher is needed onkahr dovetailed guns.

I think the knock on the OEM "staked" front sight is that it is plastic. It doesn't require much lateral force to break it off. The frequency of that happening might be low, but it's not something I want to worry about. I elected to install a metal front sight on my CW pistols.
Dawson makes a nice sight and they (front and rear) are available separately. They are also much easier to install on the 9mm Kahr pistols.
The night sights that Kahr offers for the CM/CW/E series are of very good quality, but (IMO) Kahr is missing the boat by not offering the front sight separately in their store. However, my main concern with their front sight is that the 9mm slide may need work for the screw to seat properly or, as some report, installation as Kahr does it: install the sight, then grind the screw head down to provide adequate clearance. This was not a concern on my CW45. I don't know about the CW40.

Greg--I should have my Dawson Precision front sight for the CM9 "soon". I'll take some photos of what I have to do to install it permanently. I already have the Kahr rear installed, should have got that one from DP as well, but it is fine, just expensive.

No work needed on my Trijicon night sights for my CM9. They installed properly with no grinding needed.

That's excellent:), perhaps Kahr has changed how they do the holes in the slide. Would you please post a photo of the front sight screw?

Hopefully the pics and knowledge are passed soon! I have a front sight on it's way to me this week, and I'd like to have an idea of what is in store for me.
I have a Cm9 (very rare in CA since it's not on the official "approved CA list") So I don't have much to go on for replacing the stock sight for a night sight on my backup duty gun.

the dawson fiber optic front sight is awesome and takes about 5 minutes to install. they send the tool with it. it is a breeze. My choice is the fibner optic. My choice would be #019-057 green or red optic, I think they send a colored tube with it in case u want to change colors even.. It will match up with ur factory rear sight perfectr and trust me that fiber optic will really take in the light. Somewhere on this forum we have a photo of a dawson fiber optic on a owner cm9.
Here u go, scana this thread and see the front and back dawswon sight set up and his comments.

I should have some photos of the stock and Dawson Precision front night sight with install this evening. One 1911 ignition parts swap ahead of the sight job.

The Dawson Precision 019-059 front Tritium insert sight installs so easily in a CM9 that no pictures are needed. Remove and strip slide, clamp stock sight in vise and wiggle slide to remove stock sight, clean sight area and new sight with alcohol, add red Locktite to sight and posts, tap in to place, place in vise and use staking tool provided to tighten and stake. That's it.
