Sweet! Thanks a bunch for posting that. I was concerned the 45 being so much more rounded than my more square K40 it wouldn't look as cool but it most certainly does.
Did you end up with about a week turn around?
Bet your planning a range visit very very soon. Wish we were neighbors so we could do a side by side comparison.
I know shooting my son's V12 springer I thought it shot nice. Then I shot my full size non ported and realized that V12 was really really a soft shooter.
Well I guess my PM 45 will be in transit to Magna Port in the near future.
I hate you for being a bad example but I love you (not in any kind of mano mano way) for posting these pictures.
Do let us know how it shoots when you find the time. Nice pictures.

What you using for a kick stand there. 444, 45/70 I didn't remember those being belted?

I sent the gun off on June 3, they signed for it on the following Mon. And I received it this morning so it was closer to two weeks but that's still not to bad.
I am actually one of those guys that shoot off my front porch so I have already put a few rounds through it. The recoils doesn't seem to have changed much at all, and the muzzle jump feels only slightly better but I'm getting back on target much faster. So I am lead to believe it helped much more than it "feels" like. Either way it was worth the cash just cause it looks awesome.
And I will say you are definitely paying attn to notice the belted casing, good eye, it is 450 Marlin. My favorite little lever gun, a hog slaying machine.:59:
BTW:
Ya'll were right the LCP came back unported. If anybody knows someone that might port it I may surprise the wife later.

Ahhh 450 Marlin, I should of known that. I've kind of been out of touch with rifle stuff lately. That thing kick much, never shot one.
Noticed the XS Big Dots too, mine has those also. I luv em.
Magna Port says the a more experienced shooter will notice the porting difference much less than a newer less experienced shooter.
When I got my 40 back I thought it didn't make a difference at all, my son who shoots just as much as me thought it made a huge difference so I guess it's different for everybody.
I agree the cool factor is enough to send it and mine will go soon. I'll hope for the week. I might play the LE card and that I think expedites things some too. I rarely ever do that but a man can't be away from his carry piece for too long.
The placement of the ports... further back than they do on others. I wonder why? Maybe just clearance with the sight?

Looks good to me. I've considered doing it to mine but wasn't sure of the benefit.

PM9 is closer to the front of the slide, actually even with the xs big dot front sight, but my K9 is just like that 45 photo. So not sure the sight thing is a factor. I would think Magna port has some type of formula tha tthey work off of.. I would venture a guess that the length of the slide dictates where the cuts are made. Not alot of slide area in the PM9.
No doubt in my mind a ported gun is a faster second shot target acquisition. I also feel felt recoil is less, The principal of porting kinda mandates that. It might be more of a redirected recoil, but it is felt less. No doubt a 10mm or 44 magnum would give a better feeling of less recoil that my ***** PM9 or to one of those big hole 45's where it takes 15minutes for the bullet to get out of the barrel even:D (that last part was for my buddy Bawanna).

Still less time than a 16 incher on a battle ship but you wouldn't want to take one of those in the gut either!

The look is very nice .
As a newbie , does the porting give the bullet less velocity ?
If so is it significant ?
What is the cost ?
Thanks , and be gentle :o

George,
about $150
the velocity is a little less but according to most, it is not significant

if u want a good looking ported gun that actually does what they sayk, Magna port is the only way to go.
they do no damage to the slide or barrel, or to any finish on the gun. they have been doing this for over 30 years...nc ething is u can just ship the slide and barrel to them regular mail and you should get in back in alittle over one week.

jocko, don't you have a ported LCP. If you do I would love to know who did it, and how it worked, turn-around time, and aprx cost. My wife would like to spend some more of my money.:2eek:

no, magna port would not port the lcp, P380 or kel tec and I once had my kel tec ported by APW cogan but allhge did was drill two holes on top. I could have done that much.
Magna port reported back to me that thereis just not enough stell in the 380 barrels that I mentioned. I think they could have ported my P380 but at the tme I wrote them, they had never seen one even. I think they might ort a P380 if you told them u would hold them responsible if the barrel went bad etc, maybe not either, so little to be gained by them.. tell your wife to save her money on the porting of the lcp.. nice gun just the way it is, IMO.

Or a CM9. They'll port that too and have enough loot left for some ammo or cosmetics whichever you prefer.

You guys may be on to something, she would LOVE the black rose.
I don't think I'll mention it for a while. I've spent entirely to much money on guns lately. I've got to slack up for a while.
I'm finally going to get something called an "off day" so I'll probably put some more time into checking out newly ported PM45.
