View Full Version : More patience or make the call?
I've put the mandatory 200 rounds through my p 380 and am still not satisfied with the performance. The first 100 was American eagle, the second 100 was Federial Champion. The gun seemed to like the Champion better, but still had way to many issues for my standards. The consistent problem that bothers me the most is the slide locking back with rounds still in the mag. I'm really blown away by the lack of performance for the price.
Do you think I should feed it more money or should I make the call?

I would start eliminating possibilities by: a) make positive sure you aren't hitting the slide lock in recoil by shooting a couple mags with the other hand, and have another experienced shooter shoot it while you watch very closely. b) check the mag feed process and see if the rounds hit the slide lock (pretty common). c) try a different mag.
Others will offer solid advice also, but after going through the steps, it may have to go back. If it does make sure you send a letter detailing the steps you took so they can pretty much start there and fix it. They will not go through all you do to find the root cause so help them get there.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY NEW CM9 AND IT'S EASILY FIXED.
Field strip the gun, put the slide stop in the frame only and insert a magazine with one round in it. If the round touches or pushes up the slide stop at all, there's the problem.
Solution: Take fine sandpaper and remove a little metal from the tiny surface of the slide stop the touches the round.
Fixed.
