Hi folks. I just sold my Taurus 709 Slim and am looking for a similar size RELIABLE every day carry. I have a XDSC but it is chunky and by 1911 can be a little heavy to carry.

I am looking at both the P9 and CW9. Like the size, but since I am new to Kahr I am not clear why there is such a price difference and what the benefit of the P vs CW really is. This will be a pure carry gun, as I have others for range and competition.

Hi again, and look forward to your inpu

I had I have noticed that some holster makers do not list any designed for a CW9 but they do list a P9. Will a holster for the P9 also fit a CW9? I dont see much if any difference between the gun dimensions listed on the Kahr website.

In my opinion, it's a no brainer ! The differences (other than an extra mag) are essentially cosmetic.

Get the CW9, buy a Remora #4 holster and you are good to go for less than $400.

The CW will fit in holsters marked for P9. The differences in the two will not affect the fit.

Went ahead and ordered the CW9. Looking forward to having a reliable CCW and learning from you all.

Funny you mention the PT709 slim. I hated mine and sold it recently. I purchased a CW9 about 1.5 weeks ago and love it. I've already ran 300rds through it mostly FMJ but 25-30 rds of JHP and the gun was flawless. The trigger feels great and is very accurate to me. I followed the proper break in prep and everything is great. I may go run another 100rds tomorrow! I'm also waiting on a Remora #4 holster for it.

Add my name to your list of those who traded a Taurus 709 Slim for a Kahr P9. It's a different world. I never felt completely secure with the 709. And why not a CW9? Simple! I prefer the all-black frame. If Kahr ever started making the CW9 in black--which ain't gonna happen--they'd have to shut down the P9 production line. The two firearms are that similar. Congratulations and enjoy your new gun.

Hully,

I'm not big on using equipment that is out of the ordinary and not thoroughly proven. Having said that, I tried a Remora #4 since it was inexpensive and there were a lot of good reviews. Couldn't be more satisfied in a simple yet very effective holster ... you'll like it.

Thats good to hear. I'm sure it'll work out just fine for me.
