9mm Hornady Critical Defense

I was looking at some chronograph data with a Kahr PM9 and the 115 Hornady Critical Defense. I was surprised to see velocities ranging from 990 fps to 1013 fps. That seems very slow. That makes me wonder just how well this ammo performs. Maybe not expansion so much as penetration.

Anybody have any experience with this load pro or con?

The CD line of ammo is rather weak. It does what its supposed to do, reliably expand without over penetration. Will it work for self defense purposes? Sure. But there are better choices out there such as Speer gold Dots, Winchester Ranger T and Federal HST's.
