Well, here's a report on my subcompact 9s. First off, I also purchased a new Ruger LC9 which I sold after the first range trip. It fed and ejected OK, but had the worst trigger I ever experienced in a semi auto pistol. In fact, I traded it for the PM9. As for the PM9, Solo and P290, all are almost identical in height and length. The main difference in the three is that the P290 is boxier at the rear than the other 2. Of the PM9 and Solo, the lines on the Solo were a little smoother than the PM9.

The good news is that all three pistols ran perfectly and were reasonably accurate. I would feel comfortable carrying any of them. The SIG has a DAO trigger which had a longer pull than the Kimber or Kahr. The trigger between the Solo and PM9 were close, I would probably choose Kahr for overall trigger action. The Solo has ambidextrous safety. I would feel more comfortable carrying the Kimber with one in the tube.

Seems like you have plenty of carry weapons! Which of the three would you pocket carry, minus the little 380's? Does the p290 carry as well as your p238?

having never seen a solo, it looks nice, having said that I worry alot about kimbers specs on the solo stating it is single action, Then a report from some gun rag that gave it a good rating but also stated the solo was 90% precocked and indeed was single action. I guess that is why there is a manual safety on the gun, sorta cocked and locked for a striker fired gun. For me, I tend to lean towards the looooooong trigger system of the kahr as a true pocket gun. I would be the kimber is a true shooter compared to my shooting abilities of my PM9 . It would not be my pocket gun, and to behonest have not read alot of shooting reports on the solo, be they pro or con. This is new territory for kimber to be in, so I guess I would take a seat in the back row and see how the reports are down the road..

Is/was the Kimber higher in price than the Kahr? In my area the Kimber is and wondering if the Kimber is that much better than the Kahr, and you stated the " Solo has ambidextrous safety. I would feel more comfortable carrying the Kimber with one in the tube", is that because of the ambidextrous safety. I was wondering how the Solo and the Kahr would be compared to each other. Appreciated the comparison. I have to say that after reading all I could on the Solo, I ended up buying a CM9, and have been very pleased with it so far, only shoot 120 rounds but no problem at all so far. Thanks!!

OK Jocko, being Polish explain to me like I'm a 3 year old... "having never seen a solo, it looks nice" :D

Other than that your post makes a lot of sense. :)

Thanks for all the info. It is good to get a report form someone who has owned all three pistols.
