OK, going off again to Mexico and the server that I have to use there is banned by the KahrTalk web site. Like to stay in touch so need a good free proxy server. Any ideas. Last free proxy site I used my virus software said that the site I was using had a lot of instances where the proxy site could inject a virus.
Thanks in advance.

Do you have your own domain? If so, you can create your own proxy server. I've done it before, but would have to research it again to tell your how to do it.

Melissa - the only domain I have is my house and Id get an argument out of my wife if I called it "mine". LOL
Don't know anything about creating a domain. Would it work overseas and on different computer? There has to be something out there without having to do some creat'n (I hope)

Yes, a domain is your own little internet space where you would put a web site. The good thing about having your own proxy server is that it is not blocked at schools and such by filtering software.
Surely there are some good proxies already out there though. I haven't used one in years so I can't make any suggestions.

I can't even instigate enthusiasm on this one. This stuff is so far over my head the space shuttle could fly between us.
I hope you figure out something though, we do miss you on your jaunts to Mexico.

Thanks Melissa. I'll do some more Googling after the yard work is done.
Bawanna - I'll see what I can do this afternoon. Kinda gets lonely down there at times. Miss my "friends" here at KahrTalk.
NOW I REALLY GOT TO GET BACK TO THE YARD:mad:

Is the cool site you made me a domain Melissa? Be kind of cool to tell people I got a domain again. I'm with MW, my house used to be my domain but it's pretty much been taken over by rebels in recent times. I still consider my man cave my domain but the moat is gradually being drained and I think some one has the key to the draw bridge.

Well, wix.com is a domain, but you don't own it even though your web site resides there.

Dang it. I just want my own castle. I gotta check my little book and see if I still got that Reponzals phone number.

You might want to look at using Tor: https://www.torproject.org/index.html.en
If you do go with it, I suggest using the Tor Browser Bundle: https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

Thanks Greg. I'll try that site out on my lap top later today and see how it runs.

Greg - loaded it up on the laptop and have it running. Bit slow though. Hope it works when I get down to Mexico.
Thanks,

Isn't everything kind of slow in Mexico. Should fit right in. If you work thru your siesta times you might be able to keep up.

MW,
Once you are connected to the network, try the "Use a New Identity" button on the Vidalia controller (just push it and renew the page). It seems that browser speed varies by "identity" (the network node that the target site sees). Occasionally, you might come across a website that bans the identity you are connecting with; using a new identity will also fix this.

Greg
