I use the little one, (Bauer .25Auto) to get'em off of me 'till I can get back to the truck and get a real gun, (S&W 45Colt Mountain Gun).

I don't remember where I got these .25Cal rounds, they're Winchester, but it looks like a ball bearing has been added to the HP cavity. Don't know what purpose that serves.

You may be able to see it, in spite of my less than stellar photographic skills.

I carry a Beretta Jetfire .25 in my pocket in addition to a bigger gun AIWB. Guess I'm just paranoid. :)

Why are you paranoid, Melissa? You have two guns!

It depends on the circumstances but I suspect you would be investigated very closely if that should happen. The act of going to your truck to get a bigger gun raises the issue of why didn't you drive away? I would NOT consider that plan but carry the gun I intend to use. You can carry 2 guns as Melissa, but not leave the scene and return with another.

I carry two guns because I'm paranoid. :der::D

What Old Lincoln said makes a lot of sense. If I get to my car, I'm running over any BG in my path.

I use that plan as you stated it.
I keep a Kahr on me all time with the ability to retreat to a larger gun to stand my ground or continue the retreat with greater safety.

Of course this was done totally toung-in-cheek.
Guess I shouldn't have made it sound as serious.

I don't actually ever carry the big gun. The little one, sometimes.

I really was curious though to know if anyone else had seen the 25acp rounds with the *ball bearing* in the cavity.

Up until recently, Vickie was carrying a nickel Colt 25 as her only pistol. I gave it to her 3 or 4 years ago, because I never used it. I always felt uncomfortable about it, so in Feb. I decided to get her a larger gun. I wanted at least a 380, but she couldn't rack the slide consistently on my LCP, so I ended up with a KT P32. It's not much, [more of a threat than anything, but no one wants to get shot, even with a 32] but it's a step up from the 25.

I've had a Frasier, and two Bauer's... all three the same gun, just renaming (re-organization?) of the company.

I cant remember which, but one didn't shoot worth a @#$#@$. It got traded out very quickly to a guy who needed parts.

The other one - I think maybe it was a Bauer now that I recall... cracked the slide. I've got that one still, in hope I come across a slide some day.

The last one, I gave as a token of appreciation to a fellow I know - named Bauer! He told me he never fired a gun in his life! His wife took it from him, took it to the local gun shop, asked to trade it, ended up buying a full size Beretta and a compact Glock, and keeping the Bauer. She then went and got her CWFP, and packs. He still hasn't fired a gun!!

Melissa5, is your Beretta a new production or older? Been thinkin' about a .22 like that, just as a throw it in yer pocket item.

but it's a step up from the 25.

Quite right.
Someone said to "carry a 25auto. if you're not very accurate with a pocket full of rocks".

It's an oldie but a goody...not in production anymore. Here's my thread about it http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7385.

As often as not, the only gun on me is my trusty Seecamp. Rarely have I carried a second gun and never a "car gun", so I guess I do not follow the plan. I don't view the Seecamp, or any other gun for that matter, as a "get off me gun" either. IMHO, the philosophy is flawed, in that you are relying on being able to freely move to your vehicle and anticipating have time to do so. Generally speaking, a gun involved incident lasts about 10 seconds, three rounds, within 3 yards and comes at you apace. Then it is over. Other guns and trucks have little to do with reality. If you carry, you should carry something you believe will do the job. If the .25 isn't it, then you should re-evaluate.

+1. Carry what you intend to use. I don't agree with routinely storing another gun in my vehicle. It may be a good plan for LE to have a long gun or shotgun in the vehicle, but this should not be a civilian tactic. If you survive a gun fight and can get to your vehicle, drive away to retreat to safety, report the incident immediately. Going back to get another gun to re-enter a gun fight is certainly a poorer choice IMO.

Amen brothers in arms to all of the above statments.
Just to be agumentative...I don't beleive I would take on an enraged squirel with a 25 acp. Now a 32 acp is a major upgrade to the miniscual 25 acp. I think a 22 magnum is superior to the 25 acp and sometimes I carry a little 22 mag "Pug" by NAA for a secondary back up get off me ***** gun.
I know I should feel this way about my 9mm in my front pocket, especially now with the new high tech ammo, but I do feel alot more confortable with my 45 ACP.
Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it !

IMHO, a great way to carry a primary and a BUG. My P3AT or better yet PM9 in my right front pocket and my Glock AIWB... perfection! Besides, you've got a New York reload thus no need for spare mags.

I think there is a big plus to having a gun on you that you can draw with one hand. I do practice some clearing garment and drawing with one hand; ain't nearly as easy from AIWB as it is from sweeping back a jacket or vest one hand to get to an IWB or OWB positioned 3-5 O'clock. Assuming garment is opened.

Damn, ya need an assistant. I think painting broads with a brush would have to be the best job in the whole wide world.

I seen pictures of some. I think I could do that.

Sorry Melissa, Jdlott, and TD2k, I rarely use the term broad but I was lead into it.

ok bye.
