When I bought my P40 all black, I was very worried that I might have bought a junk gun. (See P40 Part 1.0) The mags out of most of the ones I tried in the shop did not eject well after hitting the mag release and I thought that QC must lack on this brand, but I liked the size and feel of the gun so I bought one.

Then after following most of the break in procedure, the gun was not behaving 100% for the first 250 rnds. I cleaned it and had a heck of a time r and r the recoil spring/ g rod. I was thinking I might not be a Kahr guy after all. Not sure that all the troubles I was having were all the gun's fault, I did some grip work to see if it was some shooter problems. Things got better and better.

After approx 650 rnds, I replaced the recoil spring. Thinking that the occasional hiccup I was still having would be cured. I had another struggle with this r and r of the spring and the new spring seemed much stouter than the original one with the gun. (could 250 rnds make that much of a change to a recoil spring?)

Well I have fired another 200 rnds through this gun and it was perfect. I have actually warmed up to this weapon very much. At 12 yrds, I was hitting a 6 in disc (35 of 50 rnds-hey thats good enough for me). I like it enough now that it has found its way into my EDC set up and I really think I have become a Kahr fan.

I thought the CS at Kahr sucked at first but everything I have ordered came promptly and the recent mag breakage I experienced is in the process of Kahr resolving for me.

In retrospect, 80+% of my problems were the shooter.

Now for the port job to tame that snap a little and this gun should be close to awesome.
I think I am in love.

Great post Knkali. You have been tested and came through the fire with flying colors. I especially appreciate your retrospect of user issues, as that is often the source but it's hard for new owners to admit. Welcome home.

kudos, for being patient, and certainly kudos for admitting some of the issue was shooter error. Ur the second to come on here and state that. No disgrace in admitting it IMO, but certainly very helpful to some others who might be reading your posts etc and maybe realizing that HUMM maybe the issues I am having could be ME. Kahr normally can fix any bad gun, but they can't fix the shooter.

I sometimes wonder how many kahrs go back to the factory only to have nothing wrong with them. I have stated this before but about 5yerars ago I was in a heart to heart conversation with a kel tec technician and he stated to me that over 50% of their returned 380 and 32's that there was nothing wrong with the gun...

nice job knkali, u got a dandy and after a nice magna port job u even gonna live that pocket cannon more.
