Hey guys, new to the forum...

Just picked up a pretty old P9, ive got a concern if anyone can address it... hoping this gun is safe to shoot.

On the front frame rails, there appears to be some "plastic" cut out..

while its a squigly line it looks too neat to have been some sort of damage from a malfunction...

did a quick google search and found a few with what i think was described as the same issue, but no pictures so i cant be sure...

from what i can tell this sucker is pretty old, i didnt even know they made them this old until i noticed the subtle differences between mine and the new style, my serial is YA3xxx.

now being a member im able to view the pics in this thread

seems either this fella has the same exact situation, or he sold his frame and it somehow made its way to my hands in the northeast...

I've seen a few like yours and it looks like it was just not a complete fill when they molded the polymer to the metal guide rails.

I don't think it hurts a thing as everything rides on the metal, it's just a cosmetic dificiency that you can only see when the slide is off.

Old isn't always a bad thing either. I'd not be afraid to shoot it in the slightest if everything else looks ok.
