I recently sold several Kahr pistols and have grown to like the feel of the CW9. Even with their reputation of hit and miss quality I purchased one for myself.
I fire my guns straight out of the factory box. If they have a lot of factory oil I do wipe the outside off.
It was hot, humid, and I was in full sun so I cut to the chase and skipped fmj ammo. I fired 25 rounds of Black Hills 115 jhp and 50 rounds of the Winchester Ranger 147gr T-Series. I shot my RRA AR15 a little and retreated home to my pool.
I have two spare 8 round mags part number K920 but have not checked them for reliability yet.
I like this little gun and so long as it does not require work to function reliably I think it is a keeper.

Welcome to KahrTalk!
Hope your CW9 turns out to be everything you hope it to be and more.
Confused by your title "My first Kahr" but then write that you sold several Kahrs. Was it some other brand you sold to get the CW9?

Bill K.I do not consider guns purchased for resale in my shop as mine. I guess technically since I own the shop I have owned many just never shot any.

Thanks, now I understand.
Don't think I'd want the responsibilities and hassles of owning a gun shop but I sure wouldn't mind working in one.

Working in a gun shop is not as glamorous as it sounds.

I just shot 100 rounds of the Tula 115fmj using the extended 7 round mag. I now have shot in order 25 round of the Black Hills 115gr jhp, 50 rounds of the Winchester Ranger 147gr RA9T and now the 100 rounds of Tula. This gun is straight out of the factory box. I did not clean or oil it. So far there has been no issues of any type. I will shoot the rest of the Black Hills and some more RA9T clean and oil and consider this ready for off duty carry pending approval by the Fire Chief.

I think I would give the gun a through cleaning. The factory does not and although hnew, u do not know what might have been left in the machining process of the gun. Many have cleaned crapola out of the striker channels of new out of box guns. Now tha tyou have proven tha tthe gun is indeed reliable etc, give it the proper cleaning and lubing to feel u have made it even better. Then just proceed to shoot it like u stole it.. Nice gun, really is...kahrs are njopt ammo sensitive..

My Grandson just returned to me. He put 50 rounds of the Tula through it while he tried out my new bump fire AR15 stock. It is leaking oil and needs to be cleaned.
Most of my guns are cleaned if they need it or not every five years or 5k rounds. Generally the more expensive guns have to be cleaned more often.
I did steal it from my gun shop. If I did not like it I was going to return it to inventory to sell. I like it so I'm buying it at cost plus 6.25% sales tax.
I just finished cleaning it.

I realize if I keep shooting cheap ammo it will have to be cleaned more often. Normally I shoot Ranger and other high end ammo that is not so dirty.
I used this Tula because I had a bunch in the shop. I say that 150 rounds of it is just about as dirty as shooting a case of Ranger fmj ammo.
Hope your CW9 turns out to be as flawless as mine has been... Good Choice! and Good Luck!
