I've got a new CW 45 and after about 100-120 rounds today on its break-in, I had the slide stop pin pop out twice. I then shot another 30 rounds without it happening again however, I do think it will happen again.

I saw gb6491's thread from Jan2010 that said to tighten the slide stop spring screw but, it is not loose.

Any words of wisdom?

u should when inserting the slide stop pin feel a slight click as when it engages the springhy. If u look at that slide stop pin the pin itself where it goes into the flat lever has a small groove around it., that is where that little springhy must go. . It could be just that maybe the slide stop was not all the way in correctly the first time it popped out, being that it is OK right now, just shoot it like u stole it. Give it some more rounds before doing anything. Don't over tighten that little screw as it threads into polymer and actually never really tightens. snug is good. The little spring has to have its freeplay and all that screw and cup washer does is hold that spring in place and allow freeplay.

With the slide off the gun u can test this all out easily and see what is going on to. just take ther slide off and reinsert the slide lock lever until it snaps in and u hear that to. then try with yor fingers to push from the right side that pin back out and see what happens. It should not move freely..

What I did on my wife's (that post on the other thread was at her comments) was to tweak the spring so that it engages the little grove better, and check the tension of the hold down screw (tight enough that the spring just moves, but no more)
