New K9 with night sights and 1000 rounds of ammo to break it in with.
Time to run it hard and see what shakes out.

SWEET!
Prepare for loads of fun and grin you can't wipe off!
Congratulations on a fine addition.
BTW: Might want to consider popping it open for a dose of Militec-1
before your break in run...

200 rounds of fmj without a hickup.
50 rounds of assorted jhp had a few premature slide locks due to the bullets bumping the slidelock lever.
A few strokes with a file and that issue should be taken care of.

Slide lock modification was a success.
No more premature slide lock even with the fattest JHP's I could find and the slide locks on empty every time.

Congratulations! It looks like you have a winner. The K9 doesn't seem to have as many malfunctions with the magazines and cartridges diving.
The biggest problem I had way back in '98 when I got mine, was that the chamber was real tight and several brands of defense ammo that I tried, would stick in the chamber... or not fully chamber. The first ammo I tried at the store/range was a CorBon load that I couldn't finish a box of 20. The next gun show I went to, I bought some ammo and tried to chamber it in the parking lot outside. The dealer took it back when that wouldn't load.
I haven't had any problems since then with any ammo. K9's are one of the best looking and feeling pistols I've ever held. For me, it's a little large and heavy for CCW, so I'm glad I gave the polymers a chance. I can carry any of those IWB comfortably, but the K9 is a terrific gun.

Sweet ,glad to hear you had no problems. I just got my k40 out of layaway and I think the k models are well built and good functioning guns.

You've got good taste. What a good looking pistol. I'd like to see Kahr do that in .45 ACP.
Had to make the same mode you did and for the same reason to my PM9.

Is that grip panel one or two pieces? I'm thinking along the lines of some really nice after market panel(s) being available. This is not to say I don't like what I see in your photo, it looks fine. Just would be nice to add a personal touch.

I now have 600 rounds of FMJ and JHP downrange this week with no problems since filing on the slide stop.
So far, so good.

1200 rounds and still running like a Swiss watch.
Great to hear.
If you're using the gun for self defense you may want to consider changing
out the recoil spring.
This is Kahr's recommendation for an MK40 -
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++
Good morning. Thank you for the question. We recommend changing the recoil
spring every 1200-1500 rounds or every couple of years (whichever comes
first) if this is a carry gun. If it is a range gun only, then you may
change the recoil spring whenever failures begin to occur. I hope this
information helps.

My K9 is the nicest gun I've ever shot, and I love it more the more I shoot it. It just feels right. Not that I've shot a lot of different guns, but I'm just sayin'.
I find it hard to go back to shooting plastic guns.
...which means I have to get a 1911 now...

My version of a mini-1911 is my Kahr MK40 Elite.
The 180 grain 40 is almost just like a 185 grain 45.
Plus you can actually carry the MK40 in your front pocket. I do.

I traded my MK9 for a K9 yesterday, the MK9 just never felt right in my hand, no regrets

I prefer the K40 grip to the MK40 as well.
The two finger grip isn't optimal.
But that, and the 3 inch barrel, makes it much more concealable for me.
The deck of cards thickness of the grip is a little narrow for me too.
My wood grips are thinker and fill my hand better.
But again, the super flat profile with the stock grips make the little gun
disappear in my front pocket. It's actually smaller in most every dimension
than my 2" snub nose 38. The MK40 Elite is my pocket rocket carry gun.
If I was going for something other than pocket carry
I would have likely gotten a T40/K40.

ur sure don't see any T40 floating around. T's in general are rare to find "new" in dealer show cases, but a T40 I woulds think would even be rarer to find. That would rival a 1911 for sure and in 40 cal probably even be more reliable.

Well look at that, who knew. It's even got the new style tapered snout. Now that's probably a Kahr 40 I could wrap my heart around. I've had a hankering for a T for awhile, a 40 would be the ticket for me.
Soon as my ship hits the dock I might have to hunt me down one of them.
Lets see according to my current list that would be # 19 on the want list and growing. Sigh...........................

I won't ask you to reveal 1-18 LOL!
I really wanted, and almost bought, a T40 Tactical.

But already having a P220/45 (full size) and P239/357 (compact) it was time to fill that sub-compact slot with an MK40 Elite!
