I'm looking for a PM9 holster that has a spare magazine holder. I've looked over the two on Kahr's site but they are both pocket holsters. I'm trying to find a IWB but it's proving to be more difficult then I thought.

Kinda surprised their isn't more of a market for this. Majority of people just have the spare mag in another holder but I really don't want to add another object or holder on my hip. When the PM9 is so small a spare magazine holder would fit perfectly on a holster......or so I think.;)

A Comp-Tac style holster would fit a spare magazine holder fairly easy I think. Considering how far they space out the belt clips. Just throwing out random ideas.:der:

Yup that's what I'm looking for sorta. Found this a few minutes ago also
DeSantis Tuck-This II Holster. I like the adjustibility but I feel like the nylon is going to be too thick.

I have the Stow-N-Go in just the holster version. Works well and nothing fancy. I haven't used much lately but found it to be okay. Some folks rave about Silent Thunders but I don't know if they make one with a mag holder on it. You may want to PM OldLincoln as he seems to be the most knowledgable on their products (if I remember correctly - which is always in doubt). Happy hunting and if you want just the holster stow n go I would be happy to sell you mine for a very reasonable fee.

I might look into getting something custom done from one of the holster makers on this board.

You can order the Remora holster with mag holder. Remora refers to it as the PlusMag.

I personally do not like the pocket holster mag holder combinations as I find them very awkward when making a magazine change especially in a stressful situation. They make carrying the magazine and gun easy but the design is flawed IMHO.

If your spare magazine is also carried in a holder that is part of the pocket holster it would normally be carried in your strong hand pocket with your weapon and if you have to draw your weapon and fire until a magazine change is needed you will then need to switch the weapon to your weak hand to retrieve the full magazine from the pocket holder with your strong hand and then either load the magazine into the weapon using your strong hand and drop the slide, then either shoot with the weak hand or again switch back to the strong hand. Even with a lot of practice this would very time consuming and full of possible pit falls that could prove fatal.

Pocket carry is my least favorite carry method but I do carry this way sometimes with nothing else will work. When I do pocket carry I used a Desantis Superfly holster and the spare magazines are carried in my weak hand pocket in a El Paso Saddlery double magazine holder (http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/LEG533-1.html) This holder is open top and allows easy access to either magazine with my weak hand. The width of this hole help it stay upright and in the correct position in my pocket. I can drop the empty magazine with the weapon still in my strong hand by just hitting the magazine release with my thumb and in one smooth motion I insert the fresh magazine into the weapon release the slide and I am back in the fight without the weapon ever leaving my strong hand. Magazine changes should be an important part of your daily practice drills.

Bill,
I'm not interested in pocket carry. I tried it the other day and didn't care for it all. Just don't like carrying anything in my pockets. Thanks though.

Coot,
You bring up a valid point about reloading the magazine from my strong side. I honestly didn't think about that and I just tried to mimic the movement of reloading a mag and it's going to difficult if the mag placement is behind the gun. It might be possible if the mag placement is in front of the gun on the holster. I usually always carry in the 3:00 clock position.

Ol Coot said it all.
