I thought this was worthy of taking a look at. A limited ammo selection, but something to look at.
These were shot into wet newspaper at 5 yards.

wouldnt want any of those in my body
Not too shabby for the Winchester White Box ammo. Nice expansion and good penetration. The price usually is pretty reasonable also.
Thanks for the pic.

The WWB 230 JHP is the same round that worked so well so many years ago when street data started getting compiled. For the price it is hard to beat.

Does anyone remember the conversion formula for wet newsprint into balistic gel?It wasn`t an exact science but it would give you a general idea.It seems as if 12 inches in wet newsprint would equal about 15 inches in gel but I may very well be mistaken on that one.It may have been wet newsprint equals 2/3 the penetration in gel.Does anyone know?

I love doing that kind of stuff, milk jugs, wet phone books or newspaper, etc... It's almost like being a mad scientist.

I started a thread a few weeks ago about the feasibility of using WWB 230 gr.jhp for a self defense round and now, with the results of this test,my suspicions have been confirmed.I have no qualms at all about carrying the white box ammunition for self defense, especially in .45 caliber.I`ll still carry Golden Sabers and Gold Dots in my 9mm guns as well as my .45s but it`s nice to know there is a less costly alternative to be had.I,for one, plan to avail myself of it.

I found that pic by going thru the links on mouseguns.com, there is a LOT of links with all kinds of info on that site, I sure hate to hear about the author's cancer. It sounds very bad. Malignent melanoma has spread to the lining of his lungs was on his last post. Not good at all. My prayers are going out for him and his family.
