Picked up my new K40 last night and decided to put 50rnds through it straight out of the box before leaving the range. I have to say this gun is one of the best guns I have ever shot .I only had time to throw 50 rnds threw it but they were all flawless. It took me about 5 rnds to get the feel for it then after that it was all good. Plan on going to the range today at lunch and putting another 100rnds of my own reloads and 50rnds of factory loads through it, then this weekend tear it down polish the striker assembly, replace the striker spring and recoil spring.Hopefully I will have time to reload at least another 100rnds and back to the range saturday to check my work and functioning of the gun. WOOHOO love it!

That's great! Both the pistol and your reloads performed as they should. Continued good luck with both.

Just curious, but why are you replacing springs already on a new gun?

Heavier recoil spring and lighter striker spring plus I will polish all the striker parts. I did this to my cw40 and the trigger feels alot better than it already is with a little bit less weight.

Makes sense to me. The 5# striker spring is really nice and I would think the heavier recoil spring from wolffs would serve the K40 well. I run the heavier recoil spring in my K9 along with the 5# striker spring. Course I had my K9 JMag na ported so all is well to..
The great opne Bawanna has a K40 that is magna ported, if ur everinterested in hearing more, u might just PM him. He is alittle cranky for his age but other than that a nice fella.

Ya I bought the springs from wolff 5# striker spring and 22# recoil spring. I will take the striker assembly apart and polish everything including the outside of the barrel ,everything metal that makes contact with anything gets polished. Like I said in the other post I did this to my cw40 and it made the trigger and the action operate quick ,smooth and flawless plus the lighter, smoother trigger pull helped with my accuracy.

That's the recoil spring, not the striker spring I would hope.

I think Kahr says it's 7 lb, but Wolff's says they are 6 lb. (They make them for Kahr, so they ought to know.) At any rate, the 5 lb spring will lighten the trigger a little.

wolffs says 6# Kahr says 7-7.5#. I trust it is somewhere in between that. Would take a very good trigger gauge to be on the money and thenit needs to be tested new as the springs take a set and some of te poundage is gone then.
