Any opinions on a Marlin 336 35 caliber? A guy wants to trade me one.

Excellent brush buster, and with the new Hornady LeveRevolution flex tip ammo it gives you some extra range. The 35 Rem. is good on up to Elk at close to moderate ranges, and has even been used on moose at close range.
Excellent old classic made even better with modern ammo.

Bud's gunshop online has walnut stocked Marlin 336 35 rem. for $455.00 new, so I'd say that is too high a trade value.
Is it one of the laminate stainless steel models??? If it's a used walnut model, I wouldn't go no higher than $350.00 depending on condition. Maybe $300.00 to $325.00. JMO.

The 336 in 35 rem. is a great gun. I used to own one and often regret that I no longer have it. Do not know the details of the trade but do not worry about the 335 (assuming it is in reasonable condition), it is a great gun that delivers a serious "whack" to the target..

Great brush gun for deer out to about 150 yards. $300 - 350 in upstate NY in 90% condition. Not really suited for much else tho.
