Believe it friend. It's a scarey time these days. One of my first acts as the next President of the United States would be relocating the UN someplace else, far, far away.

Imagine a group of third world leaders sitting in an over priced building, in chairs probably costing more than my car, all paid for probably by you and I telling the United States what we can do and what we can't. Warm up the B 52's I have a response to your orders.

What's just as sad is the Dems opposing it might switch if Obama gives them enough incentive like they did Obamacare. Too bad many of them don't put America before themselves.

When the people of this country elected this president, they knew full well what he stood for. Why does this come as a surprise now?
When he said he was a "citizen of the world", what did everyone think he meant?
When he took over the auto industry, the airline industry, the banking system, and put us in a 14 TRILLION dollar debt, why are we surprised he would then trash the Constitution also?

Is this really a new awakening for Americans? Were we really THAT naive?
I guess the answer is yes.
I hope it's not too late.

Ya' know, we invented the UN. We invited it into our home. Agreed to provide basic infrastructure. Promised to nurture it, protect and support it, and hold it harmless from invasion. Agreed to respect and provide equal vote without regard to singular wealth, power, or equities.

Took me a couple of spectacularly unsuccessful marriages, slow learner that I am, to realize this kind of unrestrained idealism is a really, really bad idea.

Would some UN treaty override our constitution? That would be one for the courts, but I would think not. Glad to see my man Moran from my state is leading the effort to put a stop to this nonsense.

According to our/the UN incorporating agreements, quite likely. Europe's ability to strip the US of our constitutional firearms rights has a basis in treaty/agreement. As a practical matter today, not so much.

For those astonished by any or all of this, I invite a study of at least post WW II history and concentrated activism.

I hope it's not too late. When I read your post, I was struck by the hyperbole. Taking over three major industries? Really? I have some stocks and a lot more investment in industries via my mutual funds. The industries you cite are more likely to be taken over by yours truly. Not. :)

If I take your post at face value, are you claiming that US Debt went from zero to 14 Trillion in the last two years? Have you forgotten the war in Iraq and Bush's addition of Prescriptions to Medicare?

Perhaps a new awakening is needed.

FYI, I will not be voting for Obama in 2012. I hope there is an alternative. ALL our Leaders, from both Parties, seem to have forgotten how to govern, how to compromise. We are in deep do-do.

Carry on.

.

How about Uganda, Somalia (Not South Somalia either), or somewhere like that? Any third world country with an unstable government will do I guess.

You know I was wondering why Obama wasn't showing his true self on gun control, but I knew Hillary had dealings with the UN about this a couple of years ago.

There are just too many guns legally in the US. I say "it will never happen", but as always, never say never. It would take a militant act to make most men and women in the US to hand over their guns because of some UN BS. The resistance would be hellfire and brimstone IMO. Or at least I hope folks in this country still have the spine to resist. Or have we been watered down by the influx and mindset of immigrants who do not hold the value of our forefather's highly? Have we gotten soft?

Did they resist in Australia? I think, for the most part, only the criminals did by keeping their illegal firearms. I wonder if the same would happen in the US?
