I ran across this video and you can garner what you will in protecting and retaining your CCW, as the instructor suggests, it's not just for cops.
A great deal can be learned about protecting your CCW... it has to be a habit, and something you're always aware of.
If you carry on your belt or IWB, your weapon is sometimes visible or noticed in accidental or intentional bumping or touching while out in public. I'm very aware of this and try to minimize contact around other people... accidental or otherwise. I carry IWB at about 4 o'clock and feel this area is vulnerable to casual contact, so I try to prevent that.
