How many of you carry yours in your pocket? Or do you really need to carry it IWB? I am thinking about getting one, and would like to have the option. I know that I can't pocket carry a Keltec PF9 because it's just a little too big, but I thought the CM9 just might do it. What do you guys say?

Well I carry my CW9 in an Uncle Mikes #4 pocket holster. Right front. So a PM or CM9 should be even easier!
Nice handle. You'll probably fit right in here! LOL

I carry my cm9 in my uncle mikes pocket holster in my front pocket. I was thinking of getting an IWB holster too at first, but now Im thinking just the pocket holster will be just fine.

If the PF9 is too large, then the CM9/PM9 probably won't work for you either, IMO. The Kahr is thicker than the KelTec, and from what I've heard, that is one of the biggest issues regarding comfort for pocket carry.
Having said that, I love my PM9 and bought it specifically to do pocket carry. It works great for me, and there are a bunch of super pocket holsters for it (DeSantis Nemisis and Superfly, Remora, Recluse, etc.).
BTW, I bought a PF9 and did pocket carry it for a while before I admitted to myself that I had made a mistake. I absolutely HATE the trigger on the KelTec. So once I was ready to move on, I thought I'd jump on the Kimber Solo bandwagon. Well, for one thing they are (still) almost impossible to get. There's people bidding $850-900 on Gunbroker for one even today (MSRP is like $750)...check it out. The Solo is also a new launch, so problems are to be expected. So I decided to go with the PM9 and have never looked back. Best decision I have ever made, regarding firearms anyway.
Most of the time my PM9 is in my left front pocket (I'm left handed) with either a #3 or #4 Uncle Mikes pocket holster. They're really not that much different in size. Sometimes it's on my ankle nestled in a Galco Ankle Glove.

I pocket carry my PM9 all the time...only way I carry. It's comfortable and much of the time I don't even know it's there. I carry it in a home-made leather pocket holster similar to the one at pocketholster.com. Great carry pistol!

When I pocket carry my PM9,I do it in a size 3 Blackhawk. Very comfortable and smooth looking.Stays in the pocket when you pull the gun. When I carry the PM9 IWB,it`s in a Crossbreed minituck. Also very comfortable and conceals like a breeze.
I've found that any handgun over 15 oz pulls my pants down and just seems too heavy. With lightweight shorts I'll lower that to 10 oz. which leaves only the small .32 and .380s to chose from. If you can find one thats works (mine jams and the rear sight fell off) the P380 would be great.

The CM and or PM are just to thick and heavy for me. Most of the time. Yes, like in cargo pants pockets. But need to wear a belt due to sag. The true pocket pistol in my vast arsenol (Glock 19,CW-40,Keltec P3AT) Is the tiny 380. I did own a PM9 at one time.

The CW9 was too big for my pocket but the PM9 does fine once I got used to it. I prefer it carry it in my Silent Thunder IWB, but working in the yard in little or no shirt I pocket carry it in a Nemesis.
I picked up a CW9 and chopped it down to a "Covert", specificly for pocket carry. Works like a charm, it's more about grip length than thickness or barrel lenght for me. I also pretty much always have a pair of Carrharts on too, they have huge pockets.

I carry my CM9 every day in either a Trace Tarco leather pocket holster that is good for front or hip pocket or in a recently purchased Sticky Holster that is good for pocket or just shoving into the waistband with no clips needed. They both work well.

Yes that's it. Mine's for right hand. It's pretty stiff and tight when new, but softens up as you use it. I wrapped my CM9 in wax paper and left it in the holster overnight. That helped a lot. It is too wide for some of my back pockets, so I carry it mostly in the front. The back part (with the split) does a good job of masking the print.

That price is attractive, though I could get a Nemesis for less and a Super Fly for a little more. HERE (http://www.pocketholsters.com/Kahr_Arms_Pocket-Wallet_Holste/kahr_arms_pocket-wallet_holster.html) is one that really intrigues me because of the way it is hinged at the bottom to allow effortless access and removal of the gun. And I don't think tightness would exist at all. Click to view the video, and wait a few seconds for it to load in your media player. The only thing that gives me pause is the price: $55! :faint2:

Sounds great, guys. Always nice to get confirmation of what you're thinking. I'll probably mostly go IWB, but I want to have the pocket carry option, too. Now it's about finding a good enough deal or scraping enough $$ together. Do prices seem to be going up?

Here is a great price on the Galco Pocket Protector Holster (http://store.prairiearms.com/store/product/111718/GAL-PKT-PROTEC-HOL-KAHR-MK9-NA/). It is reversed leather, has reinforced top to aid in draw and return of the gun, and to prevent printing. All for less than a Nemesis! I think I'll get one! :D Have to wait 'til next month, though. Like the nation, I've spent all of my money. :(

I pocket carry my CM9/CTC laser in my front and back pockets a lot. Works for me.:)
I started with a Desantis superfly.

Then as some of you know I started making my own leather holsters and made myself this pocket holster and mag carrier.

For front pocket carry I take the back off and made the front less detailed for a smooth look in the pocket.

It still sticks. We've had a number of 100 degree plus days here to test it out. The material is water resistant (or perhaps water-proof), so it doesn't absorb sweat. It still sticks to the material you're wearing. I bought this as a pocket holster, but wearing it more and more IWB.

Blackhawk #3 or #4 pocket holster. Both work well with or without a CT Laser in the front pocket of my Wrangler's. Easy to forget it's there.
Can also use this setup in Dockers, but it is little tighter.
A good quality 1-1/4'' or wider belt is a must.
A Leatherman, Gerber or similar multi-tool sheath comfortly holds two extra magazines.

I am going to place an order for this horsehide pocket holster by El Paso Saddlery tomorrow. It is designed to fit in a blue jeans front pocket perfectly, from the curve at the bottom to the hook at the top. I found a great deal on it HERE (http://gunholstersunlimited.com/el-paso-pocket-max-pocket-holster-ambidextrous-natural-kahr-pm9-pm40-mk9-mk40-pmpm9-1.html?cat_id=79). I know it is a little more expensive, but why buy a $9 holster for a $500 gun? The horsehide resists moisture, and it is rough side out and smooth side in to protect my gun's custom mirror finish, and also to aid in drawing. I like the full height - how it completely covers the metal parts. Open bottom, too, so that lint and dirt don't build up in the bottom of the holster. I'll let everyone know if it meets my expectations, or not.

I, too, would be interested to hear your experience with this one after you have used it for a while. El Paso products appear to be nicely designed and of high quality, but I've heard conflicting opinions about whether an open bottom is good or bad. Some say open is better (so stuff does not build up in the bottom of the holster) and others say that closed is better (so stuff in your pocket does not get into the barrel).
I have no experience with this, but I'm more inclined to think that I can keep my holster clean but pockets have lint in them, thus closed bottom seems better.
Will await your experience report.

I'll let you guys know. It is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. IMO, I can keep the lint cleaned out of my pockets, but the open bottom on the holster is the right thing. Notice, too, that the muzzle of the gun rides about 1/2 inch or so above the bottom of the holster, keeping it well separated from any gunk in the pocket, so even a linty pocket is no problem.

jocko says #3, and he says he carries his PM9 24/7 in it. (Even in the bed and the bath?) :75:)

OK, here is my report. It is stiff. Surprised me. I thought it would be softer. I like the full coverage, yet leaving a combat grip. But it is big, makes the bulge in your pocket that much bigger and kind of gun shaped, and it is not real easy to draw from. The holster and pocket shift around and try to come out with the gun. I'll keep playing with it.....
Edit: I have continued to play with it and have had some success. Yes, the holster and pocket shift around and try to come out with the gun. You just have to ignore that. And, being careful that the gun clears both ends of the pocket opening, I find that I can retrieve the gun with a swift, confident motion and the holster will stay in the pocket. You've just got to have a little faith!
The holster holds its shape and stays open so you can reinsert the gun easily. It is smooth side in, so the gun slides in and out very smoothly and easily. And as I gain skill and confidence with it, drawing the gun is getting much easier. Not as quick as drawing from a belt holster, but you can nonchalantly slide your hand in your pocket and get a good grip on the gun, then surprise the BG! :53:
It starts to conform to the curve of your leg in a few minutes of wear. I think that it will not look so bulky once it is melted to my form. I'll have to give it a few days to make a home in my pocket. It is so comfortable that you forget that it is there. And it sure is easier to deploy than threading a holster onto your belt and getting it positioned correctly. It might end up being a winner. :cheer2:
It is pretty. I like real leather (horse in this case). It is sturdy - will surely outlast me. And ,again, I like the way it fully covers the slide and trigger to insulate the gun from wear and scratches, and keep any gun oil from getting in your pocket.
Now, a lot of guys get along fine with an Uncle Mike's #3 or a Desantis Nemesis, which are a lot cheaper. Not leather, but inexpensive and work well, even machine washable! jocko uses both, and uses a hanky to help eliminate printing. So, you have some choices.

I just got the CM9 today and haven't had time to crank out a holster for it yet, so after runnin 250 rounds thru it at the range, I put it in my front pocket (Blue Jeans) using an Uncle Mike's Size 3 that I used for my 642.. it doesn't hide in the pocket as well as a J Frame, but it was "ok". For pocket carry I'll use the 642 more I think, but with a nice IWB or OWB, I am gonna love this little gun!

I've had and used guns for a long time, have a carry permit, but as I mentioned in a different thread, I have not actually carried for a variety of reasons. But I might want to, and I'll need a holster to do so.
My smallest handgun is a MK9 Elite, and I usually like to carry things in my front pocket, so after a little research I got a Galco PH 460 (see pictures).
My experience so far:
Fits very well in my pocket. Comfortable while standing, but not that great while seated, especially wearing jeans. Just tucking it IWB without a holster is generally quite comfortable in all positions for me, although I have not tried this with a holster - yet.
Virtually invisible (see 2nd photo). When I look down at it, I see a very visible bulge, but when viewed by someone else it is virtually invisible, or looks like the cell phone I usually carry in my other pocket.
I like the heft and quality of my MK9, but it really is too heavy to have in my pocket all the time. I'll have to look into a PM9 or maybe CW9 for this.

You will usually find me wearing softer chino shorts rather than jeans and generally carrying all the time. My experience with a PM40 in the Galco PH 460, which is horse hide and rather stiff, matches that of QuercusMax.
Although not nearly a pretty and less than half the cost, my lowly DeSantis Nemesis is more comfortable and easier to draw from.

I carry it some in my Mika designed for my J frame. I was just about to mention that I wasnt sure about carrying in the pocket in my Uncle Mikes because it was soft and with effort I could pull the trigger holstered. As much as I would like the PM9 to be a great pocket carry, it really is a little too big, and heavy for truly functional pocket carry. I sometimes carry in a Nemisis pocket holster - front right. But I have been telling everyone that I convince to purchase a PM9 (now up to 9 conversions), that it is best carried IWB.
The aforementioned Crossbreed Mini-tuck is very good, but I have changed to the Crossbreed Micro-tuck, and it has worked out beautifully! The reason it works so well for me is that there are so many places I have to take off the gun to enter (live in SC). The single holster clip makes the removal and re-attaching of the gun and holster while sitting in the car very easy - can't do that with the Mini-tuck (I don't ever take the gun out of the holster itself, unless I am getting ready for cleaning or preparing to shoot!).
And don't let anyone fool you into thinking the single clip causes twisting, undesired cant, or slip, because that is not true. I wear a gun belt to keep the ever-so-slightly too heavy PM9 in place. I don't speak much, but when I do, I feel strongly about what I say! Love my PM9!

I use a DeSantis Super Fly with the flap on the inside.
It helps reduce printing.
Also I can slide the flap back over the rear night sights.
That helps printing and protecting my pants.
(I carry an MK40 Elite)
As for the weight, I destroyed several normal belts.
Then switched to a Galco SB1 or a reinforced Blackhawk.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=593468&stc=1&d=1303967331
During the week have to wear dress clothes though
and the MK40 just won't work.
Then it's an 11.6 oz S&W 342 ti 38 in a Nemesis.
I think you may want to move stuff to your weak pocket though.
And use you strong hand front pocket for your gun - I did.

Well, I tried the Remora. Very smoooth draw, but also very thick and the extra sewn together 1.5" at the bottom makes the back of the slide peek out the top of my standard Wrangler jeans front pocket. Might be good for IWB if you can get it in place and tighten your belt before it moves. (I couldn't. :()
Tried the Super Fly, with and without the square panel. (Without is just like a Nemesis.) Sorry Jocko, but the nylon is thick and it prints pretty bad.
After a lot of research, I found one I am very happy with. Very thin horsehide, yet stiff enough to reholster. Designed to fit the standard jeans pocket perfectly. Full coverage of the slide and sights, yet provides combat grip accessibility. comes together in thin edges front and back to help spread the bulk out and prevent printing. Two hooks to keep it in the pocket. I can get my gun out and put it back standing up or sitting down. When I'm standing, there is no printing. When seated, there is a lump there, but it is not easily identifiable as a gun. It is the El Paso Pocket Max (http://www.epsaddlery.com/pc-163-22-pocket-max-horsehide-holster.aspx). (Good deal on it HERE (http://gunholstersunlimited.com/el-paso-pocket-max-pocket-holster-ambidextrous-natural-kahr-pm9-pm40-mk9-mk40-pmpm9-1.html?cat_id=79).)

Not sure if I chimed in on this previously, but I was using a Recluse. Recently switched over to Remora and honestly forget if I have the P380 or PM9 in my pocket sometimes. Alan at Remora recently sent me this prototype size 3BSF IWB to try out. It's too big for the pocket but was created to appeal to folks that wanted 100% sweat shield when wearing IWB. I like this one at 2 O'clock. If it looks like one you might want to try, I'm sure Alan would make you one.

The really nice part about Remora holsters is that many will work with more than one gun. Same holster with a Bersa 380CC. I think I like this holster equally well with the Bersa and the PM9.

sure looks nice and sure looks like it would ride in a front pocket as good as any desantis rig. Nice rig IMO.

I am too short to pocket carry a PF9, but my CM9 is instantly forgotten in my front pocket with a DeSantis holster. I also have a PJHolster kydex IWB..... great options!!

This looked so good that I ordered one...without considering that my PM9 has a Crimson Trace. :( Maybe I need to buy a non laser equipped gun to go with the holster. :33:

Got this Galco Pro 424 for my DB9 at the Gun Store at the Range last nite, for 26.83 after sales tax. Fits in my pocket well and tend to stay while releasing the pistol well. They had models for the PM9 at similiar pricing. Some others were 55.00.

I just got a 30% off email from remora and ordered the holster with the full sweat shield for my CM9. I have been waiting for a sale like this and I finally ordered one. Ive been carrying it in my pocket in a Blackhawk #4 holster lately but I wanted to try IWB when I cant do pocket carry.
