I dedided today was the day I wanted to buy the small all steel 9 mm. So, I went to the LGS and purchased the MK9 they had setting in the box, not the display model. I have a PM9 that I purchased in 2006 that has been an excellent unit. But, I wanted an all steel unit. I'm going to dig into the tech area here re the break in prodecure and then it the range.

Welcome to The World of Stainless - Woo Hoo!
I have a MK40 Elite 03 and it's totally one of my favorite guns.
It's a keeper - LOL!
BTW Not that there's anything wrong with the factory guide rod.
But Kahr does make a stainless version. If you just have to be ALL Stainless.

The biggest thing I found is during your breakin keep it oiled to the wet side. You will have fun I just oiled mine and took it to the range.

I have had no problems with the factory guide rods, but I think I'll follow that lead a go All Steel!

Mine broke in with 75 rounds - IMO the PM9 is the world's best pocket pistol and the MK9 is the Rolls Royce of pocket pistols - It's so beautifully made its just fun to play with.

I've worked on the prep from the tech section and I'm now in the hand cycle mode. I'm very anxious to get to the range, but my schedule just keeps getting in the way. Friday looks like a good day. I agree the PM9 is the best pocket pistol. Mine has performed flawlessly. I don't remember any problems during break in. I just decided I wanted an all steel pistol.

Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure the MK9 will be one of your favorites....I know mine is. I added the SS guide rod and had the barrel jeweled. I think of this gun as my show piece. Just curious, what did you have to pay for yours?
