I've been looking at a PM45 for my new carry pistol. My biggest question is how hard is the recoil and can a person with med-lg hands wrap all of his fingers on the grip. I've shot a PM40, I liked it, but I couldnt fit my pinky on the grip with the flush mag. Thanks

Congratulations on being the first to post here! We have not linked the site up yet off the main page.

I find the PM45 to fit my hand better than the other PM models because it is just enough larger to provide a more full grip. I would call my hands average sized. If you did not mind the 40 recoil, the 45 should work fine for you. The PM is on my short list to add to my collection.

Wow! You do not mind the recoil on the PM40? I think it hurts! I shot a friends PM45 and found it to have less recoil then the PM40. I have large hands as well and do not mind the little pinky issue. I suppose it is all a matter of personal choice. As an aside, have you tried the P380 yet?

Thanks for the suggestions, sounds like the PM45 will work just fine for my needs. :)

Hey quick question since this seemed like the most active thread. Is it normal to see through the pistol near the front of it? I read about the chip in the rail and all that but nothing about seeing through the frame.

Man, I would think if you could shoot the PM40 you can shoot anything. I had one for a little while and just couldn't comfortably practice with it. I now have a P9 Covert and love it. I have heard, as someone mentioned, the PM45 should be more comfortable than the 40.

If your talking about a space between the upper and lower, then I have the same space on my p9

I find the PM45 recoil only slightly more than my PM9.

I have a PM 40. I don't find it comfortable to shoot, but I carry it more than I shoot it. It is a great gun to carry. It shoots well but if I put 200 or more rounds through it in one session I get a blister on my thumb near the web of my hand.

I have a PM40 and love it, I don't find the recoil to be an issue at all. I have worked construction for 40+ years and my hands are fairley tough. The most rounds I have fired through it in one session is 64 and they were all 180gr.
I also shoot a Rohrrbaugh R9s which is the smallest and lightest 9mm made.
If you don't like the PM40 recoil donn't ever shoot a S&W 340PD with 357mags in it, that has some pretty stout recoil.

If you have a problem with how short or small it feels, try the P-45. It's only slightly larger, about 1/2 inch and that might make the difference? Give it feel at you gun shop. Good luck Steve

I was bothered by my right hand smallest finger not fiting on the grip using the 6 round magazine for my PM9. Yesterday I shot 100 rounds to bring my total rounds to 300, and I am getting comfortable with the little finger curling below the bottom of the magazine. :)

Go to the thread "PM snapshots" and view the pictures by lunde.

He is using Pearce magazine extenders. Without using them, my question would be do they decrease the comfort when conceal/carrying? I purchased the PM9 because my beloved XDM 9mm was too bulky for ease and comfort of concealment.

I think the PM 40 is heavy. I have both the PM/P 45. Recoil on PM 45
is not bad at all. I carry the PM 45 most of the time. I wish they made
a different mag base for it. The one with the finger rest, but they say
No. Some day maybe? Can't go wrong with the PM 45 IMO. Follow
the breakin. Good luck

[QUOTE=Law Pro;428]I recently got the PM 45N, love this gun. I just applied the Agrip to it. The grip now feels easier to control, not rough.

When considering the PM45 , first check out the taurus PT-145 Millenium Pro for about $300.00

It has strike two technology allowing a second striker DA pull on a misfire after the first SA pull. No need to tap rack bang!!!

It weighs 28 OZs with a FYLL 10 round mag.

All fingers fir and recloil is fine.

normally when a round doesn't go off the first time. It is a bad round, why sit there and pump the trigger again and again. tap, rack and bang. best way I have found.. Not to condemn a second strike thing either just to me way way over rated and great add hype for those guns that have it. Other than that I don't rely on that feature when buying..

Tap rack bang is best IMO, as it works for all handguns. SOP

When I first shot my pm45 the nurling on the back strap hurt bad, so I put AGRIP rap on the handle it's so much better

I prefer the felt recoil of my PM45 to that of my stepsons CW40. He has an A-Grip, I use the Hogue HandAll Jr.
