I'll bite. My current guilty tv pleasure is Jersey Shore. :p I'm a sad, sad man, I know. It is no doubt a barometer of where today's society is headed. It's the saddest, dumbest, most idiotic, yet totally hilarious show of my generation. I'm shocked, outraged, embarrassed and laughing all at the same time each and every episode I see. Guess that defines guilty TV pleasure. Sorry, please don't ban me for that confession! :banplease:

I posted that before I saw your post. Yep, "World's Dumbest" is a guilty pleasure. :p
Anybody watch "Bait Car"?
Not much TV here either... but will watch the occasional good sci-fi movie, vintage Dr. Who, or good vintage concert stuff - especially the old bluesmen.

I mostly watch Netflix movies and stuff, I'm limited to broadcast tv, but I kind of like The Big Bang Theory. My very favorite broadcast show is Supernatural, which usually features lots of guns and assorted odd monster things. I also find Southpark amusing as they try to piss just about everyone off. 24 wasn't bad, but it's a pain if you miss an episode, so I usually watch a season at a time from Netflix.

Spongebob rocks? I like Criminal Minds and don't feel guilty watching that.
I'm semi embarassed that I never miss Survivor, I try to quit but every season I just have to see if they found a dumber bunch that before, they somehow always do. Even when they bring back earlier players they are dumber than before.
I disgust myself that I watch this season of Bachelorett, I can assure you that won't happen, what an incredibly stupid show. Long as the closet door is open I'll admit to watching Dancing With the Stars, I quit when Kendra got the boot. Man had to have some limitations.
I used to watch CSI but the timing don't work out so good lately.
Usually I'm just doing my fishing lure gig sitting in my chair and I'm stuck watching whatever SWMBO has on. I get alot more done when the TV's off.
How many remember the old good shows. F Troop, McHales Navy, Gilligans Island, Dobie Gilles. Aw good tv back in the day.

NCIS is the only show I watch, but it's usually in the middle of the night using "On Demand". I use to watch History Channel when it was about, uh, history. "Wings" was my favorite, and I've got every one on tape. 2 or 3 hours sounds about right for me too.

1) Rawhide - Clint Eastwood:
Rawhide is an American Western series that aired for eight seasons on the CBS network on Friday nights, from January 9, 1959[1] to September 3, 1965, before moving to Tuesday nights from September 14, 1965 until January 4, 1966, with a total of 217 black-and-white episodes. Starring Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood, the series was produced and sometimes directed by Charles Marquis Warren who also produced early episodes of Gunsmoke.
Spanning seven and a half years, Rawhide was the fifth-longest-running American television Western, beaten only by eight years of Wagon Train, nine years of The Virginian, fourteen years of Bonanza, and twenty years of Gunsmoke.
2) Gunsmoke - James Arness:
One of the longest running tv shows "Gunsmoke is routinely placed among the best shows of any kind and any time." The television version ran for 20 seasons from 1955 to 1975, and was the United States' longest-running prime time, live-action drama with 635 episodes. In 2010, Law & Order tied this record of 20 seasons (but only 456 episodes). At the end of its run in 1975, Los Angeles Times columnist Cecil Smith wrote "Gunsmoke was the dramatization of the American epic legend of the west. Our own Iliad and Odyssey, created from standard elements of the dime novel and the pulp western as romanticized by Buntline, Harte, and Twain. It was ever the stuff of legend."[2]
3) Bonanza - Lorne Green:
Bonanza is an American western television series that ran on NBC from September 12, 1959 to January 16, 1973. Lasting 14 seasons and 431 episodes, it ranks as the second longest running western series (behind Gunsmoke) and continues to air in syndication. It centers on the Cartwright family, which lived in the area around Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The show stars Lorne Greene, Pernell Roberts, Dan Blocker, and Michael Landon.
In 2002, Bonanza was ranked #43 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time.[1
4) The Big Valley - Lee Majors, Linda Evans:
The Big Valley is an American television Western which ran on ABC from September 15, 1965, to May 19, 1969, which starred Barbara Stanwyck, as a California widowed mother. It was created by A.I. Bezzerides and Louis F. Edelman. The producer was Levy-Gardner-Laven.
5) The Rifleman - Chuck Connors:
The Rifleman is an American Western television program that starred Chuck Connors as homesteader Lucas McCain and Johnny Crawford as his son, Mark McCain. It was set in the 1880s in the town of North Fork, New Mexico Territory. The show, filmed in black-and-white with a half hour running time, ran on ABC, from September 30, 1958 to April 8, 1963, a production of Four Star Television. It was also one of the first primetime series ever to have a widowed parent raise a child.
6) The Wild, Wild West: Robert Conrad:
The Wild Wild West is an American television series that ran on CBS for four seasons (104 episodes) from September 17, 1965 to April 4, 1969.
7) Wanted: Dead or Alive - Steve McQueen:
Wanted: Dead or Alive[1] is an American Western television series starring Steve McQueen as the bounty hunter Josh Randall. It aired on CBS for three seasons from 1958-1961. The black-and-white program was a spin-off of a March 1958 episode of Trackdown, a 1957-1959 western series featuring Robert Culp as a Texas Ranger named Hoby Gilman.
The series made McQueen the first television star to cross over "to comparable status on the big screen."[2
8) Kung Fu - David Carradine:
Kung Fu (1972–1975) is an American television series that starred David Carradine. It was created by Ed Spielman, directed and produced by Jerry Thorpe, and developed by Herman Miller, who was also a writer for, and co-producer of, the series. The show was preceded by a full-length feature TV pilot, an ABC "Movie of the Week", which was broadcast in 1972.
Kung Fu follows the adventures of a Shaolin monk, Kwai Chang Caine [虔官昌 Qián Guānchāng] (portrayed by David Carradine as an adult, Keith Carradine as a teenager and Radames Pera as a young boy) who travels through the American Old West armed only with his spiritual training and his skill in martial arts, as he seeks his half-brother, Danny Caine.[3]

NCSI,America`s Dumbest,Cash Cab,The Big Bang Theory and reruns of Fraiser.Used to love Monk but the series ended.Lots of the old series back before everything was about sex and when comedians were funny without being profane.Remember Gleason,Skelton,Berle and Benny? All very funny. And even later,**** Van Dyke and Cosby. All were masters in their field of entertainment without having to resort to cursing and droning on endlessly about their sexual organs.I`m no choirboy by any means but it seems to me that today`s crop of entertainers are going for the cheap laugh.

I really need to adjust the word censor. :(
I was thinking about this subject the other day and realized I have not watched network television since 3rd Rock was on. Google says that was 2001, so ten years. Time sure flies! I got fed up with the political bias and other issues, so just walked away. No network news, no sitcoms, no variety shows, zero. I don't miss it at all.
So for me it is the other channels and Netflix. Some favorites:
Myth Busters
Good Eats (I am a foodie)
Anthony Bourdain (I know, he is a liberal, but I am a foodie)
Dr. Who
Eureka
Warehouse 13
Falling Skies (okay, I am a nerd)
Sons of Guns (of course)
Shooting Gallery (and the other shooting shows)
I watch a lot of classic movies, History Channel, Discovery, etc. So if the world ends and it is only announced on the major networks, someone PM me...
I'm an old knucklehead, I watch the Three Stooges.
Hey Mo, hey Larry!!! Wooo woo wooo wooooo
My wife thinks I'm an idiot. I sit there trying to catch my breath, tears rolling down my cheeks, and I'm like a kid at the circus.
It's therapy.

I'm trying to stay with Falling Skies, too, but it gets so hokey.
I tried the new "Outcasts" from BBC and bailed after 2-3 episodes. In the first episode, the guy who seemed to have a handle on things and seemed the most like one of us, got killed by the female "peace officer" who eschewed guns and wanted no one to have them. I tried at least one, if not 2, more episodes and bailed. If that was humanity's last toehold in the universe, they were doomed.
Jericho was another real bomb to me. What a bunch of yahoos with a stupid plot! I was a part of MAD... ours... during the cold war, and have always liked SciFi novels about nuclear war and surviving. My answer wouldn't be to sit around drinking until all supplies ran out!
Eureka is funny and I've watched it from time to time, but I'm not really a FAN.
I do like the exotic food programs and the History and Science-type stuff... and the original CSI, NCIS, and Grey's Anatomy(gaggy sometimes, though).
Ramble....:banplease:

Started watching Breaking Bad Sunday night 10:00pm AMC channel...This is one BA show...I bought the 1st 2 seasons on DVD and couldnt stop watching...Its a well written and realistic show, give it a shot...I am also waiting for the 2nd season of Walking Dead also on AMC...I watch a lot of History channel and Discovery but am pretty burnt out on Deadliest Catch...I was good for a while but enough is enough...I like Dirty Jobs and am glad its coming back this fall...Myth Busters is sometime good and sometimes stupid but will still watch along with Pawn Stars and American Pickers...I admit to watching Cops and sometimes see a relative going down so thats good for a laugh...I love TV Land and have been watching All in the Family reruns...still funny...Last July 4th the Sy Fi channel ran an all day Twilight Zone marathon and I was able to tape those...Of course I will always watch Andy Griffith and they are timeless....One show I really loved was The Untouchables so I bought all 3 seasons on dvd...Trivia point...The Untouchables and Andy Griffith were both filmed on the Mayberry set and if you were to follow the road on past Wally's service station where Gomer worked you would run smack into Gomer Pyle USMC marine base also filmed on the Desilu Productions film set...:80:

The reason we still are connected to DISH and not just over the air TV, is solely for programs like DEXTER, WEEDS, Nurse Jackie, Justified(gotta love Timothy Oliphant and his 1911's), and a few other things I would rather not wait until the DVDs come out.

Melissa...yeah, I'll admit to watching Bait Car. It's hilarious and takes me back to those days in my back yard with an upside down box propped up with a stick...waiting for that pesky squirrel to foolishly crawl under it... Those people aren't as smart as those squirrels...they're much easier to catch! And sometimes they even admit to watching the show!!! Go figure! My other "can't miss" is CSI...any of them and even the re-runs!

My regular shows include Justified; Covert Affairs; Castle; Haven; and Eureka.
Also a few selected episodes of Build it Bigger, How It's Made, Factory Made, NGC.
I seldom watch anything as it's broadcast but record so I can skip chunks or delete and watch another recorded show.
I rarely go to a Movie but when I do it's for something with action + drama or romantic comedy.

Network TV has little to interest me. Most of the time the TV is on FOX News. I do enjoy watching some of the old shows. Like Barth and others,
I also watch some of the old westerns like Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, and an old western movie on the Western channel now and then.
Swamp People, Top Shot, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, O'Reilly Factor, or Neil Cavuto are favorites. As you can see I have diverse taste and no shame either.:p

Covert Affairs!??? I call that "Fluffy" and won't even record it for my wife! Piper is at least 10 years too old for the part and runs around in HIGH heels and usually has no weapon or hand-to-hand proficiency. She shouldn't have lasted 2 episodes!
"Buffy" with Sarah Michelle Geller was much better... and Sarah did her own stunts... black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I hated when the series ended. I was fond of "Willow", too.

I thought that "Buffy" was hilarious the first couple of years. It was very well written and had some really funny lines. Then it started getting weird so I lost interest. My Windows computer still starts with Buffy saying "Honey, I'm home" and closes with Willow saying "I have to sign off now; I'll talk to you later."

Has anyone but me seen "Body of Proof"? I watched a couple of episodes on my computer this afternoon, and sorta got into it. I might have two shows to watch now instead of just NCIS. Maybe it just because of Dana Delany. She's a lot better looking than Mark Harmon.

Dude, your wife doesn't like NCIS...What's with that...That is one of the best shows on TV now. We've watched shows here and there, but not full seasons. It's on our list for Christmas. Season 9 is getting ready to start and we're SOO excited.
