Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd make a quick first post and say hello.
I'm from Provo, Utah, and just put my first Kahr pistol on layaway (a CM9) after looking for one for several weeks. No dealer had them in, and I was ecstatic when I finally found one. I'll be picking it up tomorrow evening.
I own several Glocks, a couple revolvers, one AR-15, and several other long guns. This CM9 is my first foray in to the world other than Glocks or revolvers (other than a brief affair with a Berretta PX4sc that didn't have a happy ending), and I look forward to what this little pocket rocket can do.
I have "permission slips" from Utah, Florida, and soon-to-be Arizona that say I can exercise my 2nd Amendment rights and carry a loaded firearm. I've been carrying a Glock for some time now.
For work, I do real estate photography in the Salt Lake City metro area, and occasionally moonlight doing some VIP security.
So anyway, just a quick post saying thanks for the forum, and I look forward to being able to contribute.
Take care!

Happy to have you join us. Do let us know how you get along with your new CM. I think your gonna be really happy with it.
You can now add permission from everyone at Kahrtalk to exercise your 2nd amendment rights and whatever other rights you feel like exercising.
Welcome.

Welcome to the forum.
Check out the FAQs on the Kahr web site.
Let's just get this out of the way first.....yes there is a notch in the forward rails, yes the frame forward does have a slight bulge. No, you didn't break it!

Welcome to the forum! A definite requirement is to stop by the "Church of Jocko" for the full sermon as to the care feeding and lube of your new Kahr. I wish I had seen it prior to "breaking in my pistol" as I believe it would have made for a much better initial experience. Experience is a good teacher and the folks on this forum are all PhD's when it comes to Kahrs - me - I am still flunking sandbox and recess but I am learning something new everytime I visit.
Enjoy your new toy and be sure to share your experience(s).

Welcome to KahrTalk!
This forum is a great place to hang out and post. Be sure to give us your range report on the CM9 once you get it off layaway and out to the range.

These two posts are actually the reason I joined. I found them to both be very helpful, and I'll be putting them to good use when I pick the pistol up later today.

Nice!
I always enjoyed hunting mountain lion. It's been a few years, though.
Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Yes. Welcome, fellow CM9 owner! You got a real winner, and you're starting off right doing the prep work.

Welcome, Underrated. Lots of good info on this Forum and very knowledgable contributing members. Like you, I purchased a Kahr CM9. Bought it about 4 months ago at the CTD store. No issues with it so far and I am very pleased with it. I pocket carry using a DeSantis Nemesis holster.

Just picked up my CM9 from the dealer today.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph... the springs in this thing are tough. I can't even use the slide stop to release the slide.
I got it home, cleaned it up a bit, lubed her up with a little Remi-dry (all I had on hand), and racked the slide about 100 times before my thumb just couldn't take any more.
I'm headed out on Tuesday to shoot with a few buddies. We're gonna do some run-and-gun and combat simulation shooting, and I plan to do most of the handgun portion with the CM9. We try to do a full-day of shooting several times a year, and I'm looking forward to it - it's always a blast to get your heart rate up and shoot.
I have every intention of going over the CM9 with a fine-toothed comb, including the "prep of a new Kahr", but I don't have much time this weekend. The magazine also doesn't drop free; it seems to hang up on the rails inside the grip quite a bit, so I need to figure that out.
I'm gonna try to hit the range before Tuesday, and I'll update if/when I do.
Thanks again for the warm welcome!

the slide stop works much easier with the magazine either loaded or out of the gun and no doubt after a couple hundred rounds you will think you got a complete different gun. be paitent, don't go over board on anything until you get some rounds through it. Kahr springs are stout, u will get used to that to and rounds down range will give your springs a pre-designed set and it will be OK
Jesus and Joseph would have no trouble with kahrs springs. now for Mary, that is a another story.:p
