I used to be a "golfer". It's in quotes because no matter what I tried or how often I played I could not improve on terrible. My goal each round was to break 100. However, I loved the game and enjoyed the walk on beautiful grounds and tried to play only with those who agreed after explaining to them my history. I played by my own rules kicking the ball out from impossible (for me) shots and picking up after 3 putts. So why did I continue to play for so many years? The answer is because every few rounds I'd have a hit so beautiful it would bring a tear to my eye. It all was worth it for that one shot every now and then.

Today was that magic day at the range. My low hip shots, low ready and high aimed shots were smokin. I absolutely don't care about the 1" bullseye but the 6" ring is what I hope for. I normally shoot about 50 rounds because I shoot just okay to stop a bad guy but don't improve beyond the 50 rounds, and that is like practicing the violin to me - no fun. Today I shot all I brought (160 rds) and would have shot more if I brought them. It was shooting par in golf must feel like and was really fun!

I shoot the 5 dot targets and was shooting all 5 quickly and ending with a shot or two from the high position. I did super good at 10' with rapid fire and steady all from the 2 low un-aimed positions. At 20' I shot from the low ready (chest high) and popped up to high (sighted) position shooting several rounds quickly to see how fast I could re-acquire the sight picture. Then it was bring up to from chest to eye level and shoot to test sight picture.

It was all good. Of course I cant really see the sights but seem to get the blur of them close enough to score on my scale.

On top of all that the brass catcher worked well, as usual, so no chasing brass. Life is good.

A good day at the range is very much like hitting a good round of golf. When you are halfway thru your swing, you know the ball is going into the woods. When the trigger breaks, you know that round is going into the bottom left corner of the target.:o

Glad to hear you had enough ammo to continue enjoying yourself at the range. It's a shame to have to quit while your on a run.

Glad to hear it man, every now and then I do ok and thats good enough for me...I hate reading a gun magazine article about the writer testing a 2" snub revolver and printing a 2 inch group at 25 yards...I would need to see that, the gun can do it but very few shooters can...At my last range visit I had the opposite experience...I kept checking to see if I was shooting blanks or something cause there wasn't many holes where I had hoped the might be...:86:

your golf experience sounds exactly like mine. No matter what I tried consistantly for 10-12 years, I just couldn't seem to break the 90-92 barrier. I could carry a full bag of 14 stick and play a 91...or I could carry nothing but a 7 iron (my favorite) and putter and shoot a 91. Got to where I played only once or twice a year for another 10 years or so.... still 90-92 until my last round about 5 years ago.

Now, If we could stand about 100 yards from the tee box with a 12 ga bird gun and take out them silly white flying eggs, I'd be back into golf. I finally learned that my money was much better spent and enjoyed on the gun range than paying green fees, cart fees, and buying a couple dozen "club balls" for 18 holes of pasture pool:D
