I have a new CM9 that I am halfway through the breakin and so far its flawless. I have a question though. I have notice the bottom end of the mag will slide off. Is this normal. I took it apart and didnt see anything that would really make it lock. I just didnt know if this was normal. Also if I order the extension pieces from Kahr do they fit flush. I am more concerend with reducing the metal sticking out and its sharp edges than added rounds.

Sounds like you're missing a piece on the magazine. There should be two plates on the bottom, one that goes against the spring and up into the mag and the base plate. There is a bump on the inner one that goes into the hole on the base plate keeping it in place. You normally have to push in on that hole to remove the base plate.

I've heard of a few where that detent in the base plate isn't deep enough to hold the little detent. Seems like they took a punch or something and made it a little more positive. Might do a search for that thread, I think it was an easy fix.

Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum.
Here's a list of parts and the magazine diagram at Kahr.com:
http://www.kahr.com/Parts/Kahr-PM9.asp
It sounds like you're missing the lock plate. Take the mag apart and see if it's inside the spring or the mag tube.
If you haven't taken it apart, the piece might be in there. If it doesn't have one, contact Kahr Customer Service and I'm sure they'll send you one. Email is easiest:

if u have 4 peaces inside that mag, it is all there. 1. follower, 2 spring, 3 inner bottom plate, 4 outside bottom plate. If all that is there, then u are OK but if that bottom plate is loose, gently pinch those sides a tad to make it have beter contact with the botrtom of the magazine tube itself. It slides over that tube and if that bottom outside plate is to loose then what u having could be happ;ening. jsut a little pinching of the portion that slides over the outter tube willsolve ur issie.
If ur missing that inner plate on thebottom u need to get that part. basically if u can seed through that hole on the outter bottom plate, then the innrer ploate is gone..

Welcome. I'm glad to hear that your CM9 is working well through rounds 300+. My CM9 is my second Kahr and both have been flawless.
If you're missing the inner bottom plate Kahr should fix you right up. Also the outer bottom plate should have a little hole that the bump from the inner plate fits into that locks it all in place. I've never heard of the hole not being there but there is always a first. I don't have a mag extension (I guess you may be talking about the plastic base that comes on the CW9's.) I have seen some pictures on the forum but I cant remember where of various black plastic replacements for the metal base plate plate. I think there has been a combination of Pierce pinky extentions, CW9 plastic bases, and sanded and smoothed versions of both. If I remember there was a sanded and smoothed version of the CW9 black bottom plate that looked pretty good.

I had the exact same thing with my PM 40, I sent back 2 magazines before I just took a pair of vise grip pliers and very carefully crimped the bottom edge all the way around a little tighter. Now no more problems.
I put just a small dot of hot glue on the front corner of the bottom plate. You can remove the glue easily with your finger nail if you need to take apart the mag.
