I've been MIA for a couple weeks now, because on July 28th, at 7:35 pm my wife gave birth to our first child, Saoirse! She was 6 pounds, 9.9 ounces and about the most awesome thing I've ever laid eyes on. I'll throw a couple pictures on here, but to keep this some what gun related it really drives home the home protection...I thought I was protective of my wife, but now...wow....I pity the person who would dare try to do anything to my little angel....I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even need a gun actually....

Took ya long enough to tell us your immediate family! I heard a few days ago but figured it weren't my place to blab the great news!

Look at that hair, what a little sweetheart. What a bicep, I use to have arms like that.

I just married my daughter off a month or so ago, I can tell you now, don't waste a minute with your little princess, it seems like about 3 months from what you got to what I just had get married. Life comes at ya fast, don't waste it.

Congratulations and I'd not want to be the one to mess with that cute little gem. Shes got a couple hundred uncles and a few aunts right here that would not be happy campers if anyone laid a hand on her.

Enjoy.

Always a second thought but I'm sure moms truely relieved especially in all the hot weather you've had back there. Your life will never be the same but in this case thats a good thing.

Congratulations. she is a doll and you guys will have a great time. My daughter is my youngest and is in mid-teens now. I can remember like it was yesterday the time she was 2 and very sick (slightly purple too, boy was I scared.) I stayed up late that night and gave her pedialite until she was better. She is still just as sweet as when she was 4, only now she likes to go to the range too and can out shoot both of her older brothers. She'll shoot my kahr and even my .45.

Daughters are great. But sons are pretty good to but smell a little bit worse.

My first and last were girls with a son inbetween, might as well get prepared to be wrapped around her finger as she grows up and starts to learn female ways. Oh and congratulations. When can we expect our cigars?

Word I heard was Justin was already totally wrapped around her little finger.

That's not all together a bad thing.

To Little Irish Lass from an Old Irishman - Slante' (Gaelic for "cheers" or "To you health")
Cherish her with all you have and enjoy the time before she discovers cell phones and boys!
+1 on the girls smell better than little boys!
Congrats to you and Mommy!

Well I stopped by the local Piggly Wiggly and scored a couple items for kahrtalks new best girl. I could'nt believe my luck when I asked for name specific baby stuff. Sales lady says aisle E and sho nuff look at my find. I'll send it off on behalf of all of us of course. I might go by tomorrow just in case I missed something.

Photo's of course.

and my personal favorite, what are the odds of this?

Woman tried to question my spelling of the little princess's name and I told here it wasn't tough at all, it was a common spelling just like Bawanna.
Course then she wanted to know what a Bawanna was, I told her just put back the Sheila, and the Sondra and check me out, I didn't have time for no people lessons ya know.

And imagine, I used to wonder where all your pennies and nickels went that were designated to go to the gun fund, uncle B!! ;) Congrats to you JustinN and to your family for the addition of healthy and happy baby Saoirse! May she provide many blessings to your family!

Well pappa use to tell me, son you forget about them pennies and nickels and you won't have to worry about none of them dollars, or thieves, or people stealing your loot and running off with your woman.
Worked so far.

I was wondering how to pronounce her name... you just never know... it might be like Sara. A quick Google gave me this:

http://inogolo.com/pronunciation/d1447/Saoirse_Ronan

Pretty name! And it means FREEDOM or LIBERTY!

Thanks for all the Well Wishes! She is doing great, though if you look at the time stamp of this post, we're just hanging out on the couch because she is done sleeping for a while, and I think Mom needed a break (it's 4 am here)....but it does give me time to hop back on here.....

Bawanna really did get lucky with the Piggly Wiggly selection....We don't have one of those in these parts, must be why we haven't found many personalized items besides what we got at the baby shower....

I gotta say that pronunciation guide is pretty close...."Seer sha" is one of the ways to say it, but we're going with "Sair Sha". Freedom and Liberty are awesome things, so I think the name is extra fitting for her, as she really is. I've also read that it can mean "Independent Woman" in a name so we'll hope she isn't too rebellious...

Also, if you can admit you're wrapped, it means you're not as wrapped as you could be right? So I still do have that left....

It looks like she takes after mom, too, both so pretty!

Wait until she's about 13... she'll be thinking she wants her independence! Then you'll be thinking rebellious!

That's not surprising...Our daughter has jlottmc wrapped around her finger too and is a Daddy's girl. Course, it helps that her idea of shopping is Cheaper Than Dirt and Bullet Trap.

Congrats Justin, she's a precious little girl. I do remember when ours was that little. She'll be 4 in December. jlottmc used to get up with her a lot at night and would be the only one that could get her gas out.

I'm sure your wife appreciates the help in giving her some rest.

Congrats! I have a 5yr old girl who already plays me well and a 4 month son who has added another cherry to life. Children are the second best thing to happen to me aside from my wife! My two kiddies attached since showing them off is awesome!!

I'm sure Justin can relate to this picture. I was just looking thru some DVD's we played at my daughters wedding, didn't even know we had these old pictures.
Me and my daughter about 24 years ago I guess. Still had hair, had a real job, and legs.

Wish my head would have been up some, probably was a great mustache shot for Melissa. Can't belive how lean I was.

I'd say the daughter was just about the same age as Justins new little princess Saoirse, I gotta work on remembering how to spell that. Got it on a sticky note on the screen to remember. Ya can't sound it out like Jocko does and get Ba Wa Na.

There have been a lot of nights/early mornings spent on the couch with her sleeping on me. Something about being against dad really puts her to sleep.....So far so good on the name, and even if you do mess it up, don't feel bad. Shannon's mom can never get it right. Big thanks for the Bibs and Blanket. It's always nice getting the personalized stuff, as I don't think we're going to be finding any of it around here....Maybe when we take her over to Ireland to show her around .

Yeah, they are special no matter what age. We have a pic "somewhere" of my 12 day old son laying on my chest in a recliner as I watched football. I don't think I've ever laid so still in my life. Those were good times and to be enjoyed and remembered, especially now that mine will turn 40 in December. If he laid on me now I's be very still just because I couldn't move. No he doesn't sit in my lap either at 6'2" & 230lbs. His kids do tho and I love it.

Hey Justin, if you an Shannon have anything you want personalized we have Embroidering machine will travel. No problem. Well actually thats a little white lie and momma says a little white lie won't hurt nobody, I prefer not to travel but my wife can embroider just about anything. Actually her and my boys will be in St Louis in a couple weeks for a few days and then on to North Carolina for a very brief visit there. I wanted her to get the machine that could do hats but it was like 7,000 more bucks so we balked at that. She's got access to millions of little patterns and stuff and of course can do the name. The Piggly Wiggly thing, well I made that up too, I'll surely pay for all this gosh darn lieing in one day. I'm feeling really hot already.

Yep, it's our first....so it's all cherish-able....even when i'm sitting up at 3 am watching her sleep because she sleeps just fine on dad, but not in her crib... :-/

I'll keep that in mind Bawanna...and that probably helps explain how you make it home...I'm guessing your address is embroidered on everything you wear so the nice folks around town can always point you in the right direction....

Who told you about that?

Actually truth be told it's like so many other trades, I make grips and most of my guns don't have em. Wife has done some for me but not alot. I do like the concept though and I think it's a grand idea. Point me to my house.

Maybe you need to get a bigger crib so theres room for both of ya, maybe more comfy than the couch, a good recliner is usually a good choice too.

I do +1 rholmes many times over. In my father of the bride speech I mentioned that from birth till the day of the wedding it seemed like about 3 months. It does go by very fast. The part where I mentioned going from poop, pee and eat to day, (an then added things didn't change all that much after all) didn't fly so well. Oh well, lifes a joke or joking is my life........

Mine Used to do that more often then not. I have pictures too. She's at that age now where she has a little autonomy, and gets in trouble because what she knows, and what she thinks she knows are not even in the same ball park. I'll see if I can get my wife to post up some of the way mine used to sleep (I would sit in the recliner with my knees up and put her on the thigh so she had her own little dad chair). Jdlott was right though, there were many nights and days when I was the one that got her right. Good times. Oh and the times ahead aren't all bad either, you'll figure it out.
