Forum Friends. I have a P9. Love it. I bought an expensive Mitch Rosen IWB holster. Beautiful...but it is painful to wear. I bought a pair of jeans one size larger. That helped to some degree, but the seat and legs of the pants are larger and look ridiculous. I love the idea of IWB, but I can't get comfortable. Tips????? Thank you!

Although it may look big and cumbersome, the Crossbreed MiniTuck (http://crossbreedholsters.com/MiniTuck/tabid/91/List/0/ProductID/6/CategoryID/1/Level/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName) will do it for you IWB. It is tuckable, and if you want, you can get Velcro clips for absolutely total concealment. The two widely spaced clips are a key to help prevent pants sag, and the large leather back piece prevents any kind of pressure or discomfort. Many people on here love the holster.

If you want to get away from IWB, a good belt or pancake holster will work, and the right ones are easy to conceal under a loose shirt in the summer or a jacket in the winter. Prices vary, but you can find a nice holster for less than $50 if you shop carefully. For my CM9, I went with the Tagua Open Top Lined Belt Holster (http://www.taguagunleather.com/new/open-top-leather-belt-holster-p21), $45 shipped to me....

One that I think looks really good for you is the Don Hume Open Top Belt Holster (http://www.gunnersalley.com/product/H721OT/Don-Hume-Open-Top-Belt-Holster-H721-OT.html) at Gunner's Alley. It is also $45 and has a body shield. I think you have to pay shipping.

Very interesting.... I tried a tuckable IWB Kydex holster with a J-hook for my CM9. Like you said, I literally forget I am carrying it as far as comfort and lack of even feeling the weight of the gun. My problems with it are that it rides too low and is hard to draw the gun from and, with just the one J-clip, my pants want to sag on that side. I sent it back to him to change it to a regular IWB clip and raise it up some, which he said he would do without charging me any additional money. It cost me $3 to ship it back, but no biggie.

I am thinking that the MiniTuck with the 2 wide spaced clips would be comfortable and solve that pants sagging problem. But I am interested in where you wear it on the holster clock (you know, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30)?

Other Crossbreed wearers, where do you wear yours?

Here's a tip or 2. I found the sweet spot in comfort is just behind my hip joint, about 4 o'clock. To see if it's your holster or your gun, unload the gun, wrap it in a couple hankies and set it in that position. You may need to loosen your belt to place it. It will feel unnatural at first but shouldn't be painful.

If that test is tolerable you have the wrong holster for you. The thinnest IWB for that small gun would be a Kydex. It's thinner than the CrossBreed which is a fine holster, but in your case it's the bulk that isn't working.

I suggest the Garrett Silent Thunder which besides being thin, has a thin soft leather lining to protect your gun's finish. I'll link some pics and info below. The Garrett family is good to work with and if for any reason it doesn't work for you will refund your money or exchange it for another of their products.

OldLincoln, Thanks! I have your slide show with that gorgeous MK9 and ST bookmarked and look at it often! Do you also carry the ST at 4:00? That placement (or 8:00 for me, being a Lefty) seems to work well, too.

JBowl1, sorry for hijacking your thread! :o

Yes I do, and often forget I'm even carrying it. As I'm walking across the Post office parking lot I run through what I'm there for like a checklist. Often I suddenly stop and make a U-Turn to go back and remove my gun. When initially carrying I was nervous about it and aware, but as I became more comfortable with the notion I also adjusted to the carry and it is comfortable.

One thing I have to say is when I gained some weight (since lost) if I cinched my belt to the old settings everything was too tight and I felt the gun. If I don't carry I put the belt 1 notch tighter and my pants now allow me to do that. When I was heavier they ran out of room but were still manageable.

You don't have to go gansta baggy but neither can you go Beatles skinny. For me, I prefer pants with an elastic piece in them so they are comfortable sitting down and standing. Mine don't have the baggy crotch, just some give in the waistband.

LOL! I'm working on losing some weight. Lost 18 lb so far, but my belly, love handles and man b00bs still look almost as big as ever. :( My pants are looser now, though. :)

I sometime carry IWB in either a Crossbreed Super tuck or a Comp-Tac CTAC. Both work well, but the CTAC takes less room inside the pants. The best spot for me is just forward of the hip. At 9:30 or 10:00. I am also a lefty. While I can carry the CW9, I have discovered the CM9 hides even better. That is interesting about the Silent Thunder! Is it easy on and off? Is it comfortable to carry IWB with that holster?

I prefer OWB because IWB has begun to be difficult for me to carry all day. If I could find an IWB holster that allows me to carry all day that would be my preference! Finding the perfect pistol and holster is an on going adventure.

When i'm carrying my CW9, I can't begin to tell you how amazing my Remora IWB holster is.

I was skeptical at first... a clipless, inexpensive holster that claimed to stay in place now matter what kind of pants I'm wearing, and claimed to be comfortable as well.

Well, it's all true.... I would suggest giving them a try.

I have a CW9 as well. Can't carry at work but evenings and weekends it usually rides in a Galco Sto-n-go. I aslo have a Desantis OWB thumb-break and a Kydex IWB for the CW9. The Sto-n-go gets the most use as it is the easiest on/off. I also find the leather is more comfortable than the kydex, they are close to the same width with the gun.

I have looked into and am going to get a remora, if it works as well as folks claim it could become the number one.

The most comfortable IWB holster made IMHO is the Brommeland Max Con V. You will only ***** once.

I read your ?original post? on the Remora no-clip holster, checked it out and ordered one mainly for my Walther PPS, but it's also the right size for my CW9. Dang, I just tried my CW45 and it fits also. Snug, no sliding around, doesn't move at all, and is very comfortable, not to mention easy to remove quickly. It's a definite winner in my book, just wish I would have heard about them before I bought all those other holsters.

I agree with sparks. I carry my CW9 in a remora holster also. Great versatility.

Dang, I've got to get a Remora! Guys, what options did you get? Did any of you get the Sweat Shield or Reinforced Top? The SS seems like it would be necessary to keep the slide away from your bare skin. The RFT less so, seeing as how this is a concealment holster. What do you think?

The Remora #4 with Sweat-Shield works great for my CW9.

I bet you tried it with a "relaxed cut" pair of jeans. Try a different cut or maybe a different brand. I've had great luck with IWB holsters. My favorite is the Milt Sparks Summer Special. Although there are a lot of nice ones out there. Sparks usually has a long wait. I can hide full size .45 under an over sized sport shirt or T-shirt. The ribbed muscle shirts(white undershirt) work well for keeping the gun off of my skin. It's one of those things you'll have to play around with to get the right combination of holster, belt, pants, shirt, etc.
