I would like to share some insights on the PM guns for newbies here (I am still a newbie myself). I bought my PM9 before I found this site, but I started reading it before the first time I shot it. I read what appeared to be lots of issues with these guns and started getting nervous about my purchase. Before my first trip to the range, I stripped the gun and prepped it like in the tech section. So far I have put about 350+ rounds through the gun, 4 different ammo types (Remington, Winchester and Blazer FMJ and Gold Dot JHP). For me, the gun has been absolutely flawless. In addition to that, a friend of mine just bought a CM9 so I prepped it for him, but have not had it to the range yet. I also just rented a used P380 at the range and shot that gun.
The biggest insight I can give anyone new to these guns is that they are very sensitive to user errors. While my gun has been absolutely flawless for me, I let a friend of mine shoot it and 2 out of 3 mags he had a premature slide lock occur. I feel fairly confident that he was slightly riding the slide release when firing the gun. Another friend and I were shooting the rental P380. I had zero issue. 3 out of 4 magazines he loaded, he had a failure to feed issues when he chambered the first round (and he was using the slide release, not sling shotting it). One of two things were causing this, either he wasn’t ensuring the last bullet he loaded in the mag was fully seated at the back of the magazine and/or he might have been slightly interfering with the slide when he released it.
Hopefully this will be helpful insight to some newbies here.

please remember that these helpful hints given on this forum are just that. HELPFUL 95% of all kahrs need noting but a competent shooter behind it. We have not had really any serious issues with the PM9, cm9 or cw kahrs let alone the K series. but your always gonna read about issues when they happen as some cannot rush fast enough to get on these gun chat forums to announce what a disaster their gun is yadda yadda. and at that time u can normally visit most all gun forum and yup that poster is postring away about his bad gun, who ever made it. That is just the nautre of gun forums. Believe everything if u will , then shame on you, trust but verify, don't take my word for it or anyone elses. I might just have gotten a real lemon but that is not indicative of kahr, ruger, smith, HK, glock or other good brand names. Shooter error is behind alot of small gun issues but try to tell the shooter that and he gets pissed. Try even to have him check it out even and he gets pissed, again the nature of the beast. WE ARE NEVER AT FAULT, rule #1, Rule #2 my gun is junk so all guns made by so and so are also junk. Rule #3, refer to rule #1.
I know for a fact of many guns that this great forum has made right for the owners buy just coming forward and stating ur issues. 90% of the time it is home fixable with little or no effort required, some say well I should not have to do that, ur correct, so ship the bastard back and wait 3 weeks for what maybe 10 minutes of TLC from helpful members here could have fixed It is ur choice not ours, its ur gun, not ours. Trust the members here to want to help you but u gotta ask, u gotta bring forth in a maner that we all can understaned what is going on, alot of times your gonna hear "send it back" as it needs kahr support. BUT many times ur gonna hear from a member who says, heh, I had the same thing happen to my kahr and this is what I did etc.
enough rambling, but for new kahr owners, IMO u have the best ccw gun onb themarket but these tiny ass guns are more finickyt about proper shooting form that the big guns, so IMO a gun and a shooter both hav etomate up to make a good working team. When that doesn't slve the issue come here and my bet is this forum and its expertise ckan help most, some damn it just gotta go back tothe mothership. Not the end of the world either. it happens with all makes and models. some not as much as others but it happens, don't let anyone tell u different..

I agree totally that user error is a big percentage of the problems people have with these guns. I bought a CW40 and was not have a real good break in period with it, lots of FTF, FTE, failure to fully return to battery where I had to nudge the slide up a bit. I let others shoot it, and NO PROBLEMS at all! I talked to the range master and he said I was probably limp wristing it, and that the polymer framed guns flex more than a steel gun and will not put up with limp wristing. So, I changed my grip to where my wrist was firmly locked behind my shooting hand, and that changed everything, I now have a perfectly reliable CW40, and ended up liking it so much I bought the CW45, so I'd have one in my favorite self defense caliber. It did have some problems that caused it to go back to Kahr, the trigger would not reset, there were a few suggestions to fix it, but I decided to send it back anyway but they had it back in my hand exactly 1 week from the time I dropped it off to be mailed. I'm glad I sent it back as they did more work than I had anticipated needing done, It too is working flawlessly as long as I do my part. I added the laser to it, and it will become my carry piece when I get a couple hundred more rounds down range.
(LOL, how long have I been saying that? need to get off my butt and do some shooting)

You didn't think for a moment it was possible for me to pass up a golden buda bump like that did ya. Heck I agreed with you once I think. Have to check my records. Oh yeah that time you said I was a swell fella and my grips rocked. I agreed with that.

My PM9 is really reliable - The P380's had some trouble for a while but apparently that is in the past from what I see in new reports. "Trouble" in a P380 means you have to send it back and it gets fixed - so its not a big deal. You also have to learn to shoot the little p380 - It helped me a lot to forget the target and front sight and just watch the empty case ejecting from the gun. Cured my limp wrist real quick this way!
