Got home from the gun shop around 20 minutes ago. I immediately took it apart to clean and lube it, and I discover a gouge in the feed ramp:eek:. It looks to be below where the magazine would interface with it, so It may not cause any issues. I love how this gun carries. I'd hate to be without it immediately after buying it. I'll post pictures soon. I've hand cycled magazines loaded up with Golden Sabers through it with no hitch (around 40 rounds worth). Oddly enough, It feeds on the first round without having the use the slide release.

I have a pic up now. It's a little hard to see because the chrome is so shiny with oil. The nick is around 1/2 down the ramp on the right hand side.

Who should I ask for when I call into their customer service department on this?

Why don't ya post a picture here first to see if it's a normal thing or something to be really concerned about. From your description it doesn't sound like it's gonna effect performance but only a picture will tell for sure.

If you fed 40 rounds thru it by hand without a hitch, I doubt you'll have an issue.

To add to what Bawanna said, when I bought my first Kahr, a lowly CW40, the large and irregular gap between the barrel hood where it hits the breach face worried me. I took pictures, posted them here and sent them to Kahr, worried that there might be an issue with the relatively small impact area where the parts mated.

Folks here suggested just shooting it. Kahr said, just shoot it and let us know if there is a problem.

The gun was flawless from day one! So, I'm sure you know what my suggestion would be . . . wait for it . . . yep, just shoot it.

If it develops a problem, Kahr will even provide a call tag, with a little nudging. Or as they say on Barbados, "Don't worry, mon. Be happy!" :D

By the way, Welcome to the forum. We'll be here for you, most likely to cheer for your good results.

Just saw your picture. That nick is out of the contact area for the bullet, so is unlikely to be an issue.

You can email your picture to the customer service "Jay Dandrea" <jay.dandrea@kahr.com>

I'm looking forward to shoot it. My dealer has already said that he'll handle any of the shipping, if need be. I think it'll shoot fine, but I'm going to let them take are of it. I don't want to let the thought of the nick nag at me as I'm going to be carrying it as my daily as soon as I do all of the break in.

On a positive note...the trigger is amazing.

Welcome to the forum. I see you're from my home town.

I have a CM9 and it's a dream. Just go shoot it and enjoy it. That nick might make yours run better than all of ours. We may have to get the specs on that nick if thats the case so we can duplicate it on our CM9's.

Yup if it will bug you (probably would me too) I'd get it taken care of. It should not affect shooting, but just because it isn't a chunk out of the exterior of the slide doesn't mean is right.

Why?? Because every time you show it to somebody you will see it and likely point it out as bugging you. That's bad press for such a high quality gun and Kahr will want to make it right. Then you can brag on how well they fixed it.

send theat photo to kahr in care of Jay or eion and let them see that picture. I don't think it will harm anything where it is at, but alos it shoud not be there either. U can just send the barrel to them regular mail even for a fast turn around or if u bought it locally take it back and see if they have another cm9 that they will just exchange barrels fore you..

Just out of curiosity...does a PM9 barrel drop in/fit a CM9 slide?

Sending it back to Kahr today. I'm confident that they will take care of it.

Did you shoot it or just decide to send it?

I decided to send it in. Wasn't going to be able to get out to the range for a little while anyways, so I figured, why not.
