I’m on the prowl for a 640-1.
Got $500.00 cash in my pocket and am fortunate enough to live in southern Florida
where gun shows run rampant – LOL!
I love this place.
Don’t really need it though.
Already have a 25 oz stainless sub-compact (MK40 Elite).

So plan B is -
1) Order XS Systems Big Dot 24/7 Express for my P220.
2) Give my P220 and P239 to a smith for trigger jobs and sight installation.

Isn’t life grand?

Good luck! I'm going to the one here in Jacksonville. I guess it's still on. I'm going to grab the Hurricane Emergency Fund and see if I need to borrow it for something. I did that the last 3-4 shows but didn't find anything that "floated my boat". :)

Well my vote is to stick to plan A , how can u pass up a .357 magnum ?? :001_huh:

I have become revolver obsessed recently ( have bought 4 S&Ws in the last two months :D ) and can't turn down a beauty when I see one , so I have banned myself form any shows for a few months .

And YES , life is DEF grand !

Good luck hunting .....

The ones I've attended in GA - you must ck in at the desk if u carry ANY firearm in .

U can't carry loaded into the show , I think u can if LEO .

I leave any CC in the car unless I'm looking for a holster or something for it .

I've never tried to "sneak in"' loaded . Wouldn't want to be challenged , and then look stupid and prob thrown out .

Our shows only members can carry a gun in, it has to be checked and tied. No loaded magazines. Only members can buy or sell. LE can carry their gun loaded. If you tried to sneak a loaded gun in and got caught you'd be gone instantly and forever.

I usually leave my guns in the car also but frequently carry it in just out of a nagging fear of someone getting it out of the car although I've never heard of it happening. They do have security patrolling the lot looking for parking lot deals that are forbidden also.

Security is tight but they are very nice about it too. Follow the rules, no problems at all, try to cheat and they get ugly in a hurry. Has to be so, imagine the insurance expense and increase if theres a problem.............

I just love gun shows. Rarely have enough money to do what I'd like but still just a blast to look at stuff. I dig old stuff anyhow, so no better place than a gun show.

I quit going to gun shows because of all the idiots standing in the middle of the aisles BSing to where no one can get thru, like they don't know there is anyone in the world but them. What a mess!

Thanks for the pics, Barth. The closest show to me this weekend was in Atlanta and that traffic is just not worth the effort.

Most importantly, did you buy anything?

Amen, doesn't that drive ya bonkers? You should try it in a wheelchair. Also the guys that have double baby strollers taking up the whole aisle, or standing 2 or 3 deep to look at something on a table instead of just waiting.

I always go on Sunday morning just after opening, saturday is usually impossible for me to get around, just too crowded. Miss a few deals but I usually don't have the loot to grab em anyhow.

I've been known to take a peak inside and just turn around and leave too. It's close to home so it's not a big deal. Rarely happens.

I only saw one 640-1. It was magna ported and had a $900.00 price tag!
Almost bought an over under SA 9mm derringer.
But it was almost as big, and heavier, than my 342 ti.
Did see a S&W 44 Mag Mountain gun for $900.00 LOL!
(bought mine years ago for $350.00)
These 640-1s seem like unicorns. You hear about them.
But never see them. Went to three gun shops today.
And still couldn’t find one.
Not in the cards I guess.

But it is the 2010s. Things have changed.
So it’s off to the internet!

Ordered for my Sig Sauer P220/45 -
1) XS Systems Big Dot 24/7 Express sights
http://xssights.com/prod-pix/dotsets/bd-ft-rt.png
2) SIG SAUER Parts Kit (SKU: 220-45-PKIT)
3) 50rds - 45 ACP / AUTO Winchester Ranger T-series 230gr
4) 50rds - Speer Gold Dot 45 Auto +P 200GR Duty Ammo
5) 50rds - Speer Gold Dot 45 Auto 185 GR Duty Ammo
6) Already received a Bar-Sto stainless match barrel
7) Scheduled an appointment with a certified Sig armorer for an action job on my P220/45 and P239/357.

Update:
8) 10 round Sig Sauer extended mag - icing on the cake

Ahhhhhhhh
Now I feel better - LOL!

Just returned from the Fort Worth Gun Show--about 1200 tables. In terms of concealed carry at the shows in Texas, most post 30.06 signage with no concealment allowed.

The North Atlanta Tradeshow site and the Gwinnett Fairgrounds shouldn't be too hard from your area. I can walk to the Fairgrounds if I choose to do so.

I stopped going because I DON'T NEED ANY MORE GUNS, and the prices recently haven't been that great. I ordered a reflex sight last night on line for the new 45 carbine, and I know I beat any price at a gunshow.

Most of the time, if I have to get on I-85, it's not worth the hassle. I'll just wait for the Gainesville, Commerce, Conyers, or Lawrenceville shows. I would like a Glock for the car, but I really want to sell 2 guns.

Well, if you get to Lawrenceville, look me up. I live less than two miles from the Fairgrounds. I won't help you find another Glock though. :D

I don't get to Lawrenceville very often O'Dell, oh my bad! Your were talking to Melissa, I should have known.
