Mines on order, glad I beat the rush. Sheryl was even gracious enough to give me the discount before the sale started. Good people for sure.

I got mine Tuesday, but I haven't been able to try it out because my gun is still in pieces on my kitchen table trying to get the back plate off and install the 5 lb striker spring. It is a beautiful holster! I love the high quality Allen headed adjustment screws and the leather lining.

I made a C-clamp to hold the striker spring back, and I found a push pin that is tiny enough to fit in there and depress the extractor pin, using a vise grip to hold the push pin. But I need a 3rd hand to hold everything and get the back plate to come off, so I am waiting on my brother to come over and help me. If I had a workbench and a vise to hold the slide, I could do it myself. But I don't, so I'm just waiting. :target: ...

My brother just called! He'll be over here in a few minutes and, hopefully, we can get this job done. I've only been working on this for 5 days, getting lots of help from Daddy Bawanna and Wyntrout. That back plate is coming off this time! After that, some lubrication according to the Lube Chart and reassemble it. Then, I can try out my holster.

I'll try to stand by and check once in awhile here. Lets get r dun this time.

You'll laugh when you finally get it and realize how really simple it is. I know it's frustrating now but next time it'll be way better.

Well, I'm hoping there won't ever be a next time! Those springs aren't scheduled for replacement, so hopefully that's it.

But we got it done! Finally! I gouged the top edge of the back plate with a screwdriver, but it was really, really tight, even after it had slid more than 1/8". But we got it off, kept the extractor train from flying and got the 5 lb spring in. Boy, that sure smooths out the already superbly smooth Kahr trigger pull! :D It seems to smooth it more than lighten it, although it does feel somewhat lighter, too.

Is this what jocko is always talking about - the owner bonding with his gun? If so, I'm about ready for a separation! Now, I'm just going to shoot it like I stole it! :001_tt2:

I am wearing my shiny, clean, well lubed, trigger lightened gun in my new, adjusted to my liking Silent Thunder IWB holster. At least I think I am. Let me check and make sure it is still there.... Yes, there it is! You literally can't feel it when you have it in what I call the "sweet spot" - for me about 8:30, for you righties about 3:30. And with the leather lining, the draw is truly silent. OldLincoln, you're right! This is the best IWB holster available for these small guns! Thanks, Bawanna and Wyntrout, for all the help with the slide disassembly. And thanks, OldLincoln, for the holster recommendation.

Funny I wore my Silent Thunder this weekend with my Cbob and Sweet Spot is the exact term I used when I got it in just the right spot. It was hot and I just wore an untucked shirt over it and nobody knew it was there.

I'm think the PM45 in the Silent Thunder will be even better yet.

So many toys, so little time.

Yup, the sweet spot for me is just behind the hip bone. Now that I've lost weight there's not even flab to pouch out over it. On many occasions I've completely forgotten it's there. Gone into no-no places and just kept my mouth shut when I remembered it. Too late to make a fuss.

Sometimes I wonder if the LEO's may notice, but make allowances for us old types. No way in hades would we do anything unlawful knowingly. Reminds me of a story.... about me in the officers club in a foreign port, but that's another thread.

Well, I've still got some flab to lose. Lost almost 30 lb so far. Need to lose another 20. The sweat shield dug into my spare tire and became uncomfortable about an hour ago. I may end up trimming and reshaping it a bit.

Being lefties, I wonder if LEOs would tend to miss it because they wouldn't focus on the left side for a gun. So, as long as we don't give it away with body language, I think we're cool.

Call Sheryl at 281-703-4459 and see if she will extend the discount price to you. Tell her you just found out about it a little late on the Kahrtalk forum, and JFootin said give her a call.

Someone's got friends in high places!

Knowing Sheryl and Ron (only by email sadly) I think you could mention Captain Kangaroo and they would extend the sale. They are that kind of people.

I'm tempted to email an see if they'll apply that sale to that 7 round mag holder. That's a lot of freaking mags, 56 rounds according to Tucson. I never did get the batteries to work in the calculator so I have no idea. I think the thing is toast. I guess I could use my Chinese deal with all the marbles and figure it out the easy way.

Be great at the range but 115 bucks, that's kind of rich for me.

Is there any certain clip that is best? I am looking at the std, slimline and HD. This is the first holster that I have purchased other than the SuperTuck

I have the slimline; it is less noticeable.

Call or email them. They are very helpful in helping you decide what will work best for you. I was going to order the slim line for my PM45 and he recommended staying with the standard Silent Thunder. For the CM the Slimline might work fine.
I just went standard clip and it works well, easy on off and holds well.

Yeah. You know, I'll bet the standard clip is easier to take off because you can get a finger under it easier.

I ordered a Slim II just before the sale ended and decided to try the J-clip. I had modified another clip to a J before and really liked it, so we'll see.

I've had the slim and the standard and prefer the standard. Neither are really noticeable especially if you wear a cover shirt. The standard has better grip on the belt which is better for the single clip holster.

I ordered the standard ST with the standard clips. I think it will work out fine for me. It was hard to pass up with the sale price.

Can I get a big whoop, whoop. My Silent Thunder with standard clip for my PM45 just hit my desk!!!:D

On first observation it looks typical Garrett, IE: PERFECT! I haven't even stuffed the PM45 in it yet but I have little doubt that it will fit like it was grown around it.

Now to work on that 7 mag mag pouch. I reason that because it's spring loaded I don't actually have to carry 7 mags, I can carry 1 or 2 or 5, options is good. Plus you always grab the same spot, no need to think, ok I used one spare so now the second one is further back. Always in the same spot.

I think I'm cursed with gun paraphernalia wants................

I'll give a better report after I wear it some.

Imagine a kydex holster that smells like fine leather. Heavenly.

I love my slim slient thunder for the PM9. I have had it for over a month now and it has overtaken all my other holsters. Liked it so much I picked up one for my LCP.

Follow up report on my Silent Thunder w/standard clip for my PM45.

I wore it yesterday for the first time for an extended period. IE: (anybody have a clue what IE: means) All day, sun up to sundown. I spent most of the drizzly damp day in my garage sorting and rearranging, pushing, lifting, transferred chairs several times. Family out of town so all day was really all day, not in between, little task and trivial stuff like eating, getting nagged etc. When I paused to think about it it was comfortable, when I was going and not thinking about it I forgot it was there.
A couple times I quickly checked to make sure it hadn't fallen off someplace but it was there.
The true test of an IWB is the morning after! If you wear one that is marginally comfortable, when you put it on the next morning you'll have a tender or sore spot. I'm happy to report zero sore spot. I put it on first thing this morning, about an hour ago and already it's in the sweet spot and ready for another full day watching my back.

I usually only go PM45 solo on weekends at home, which is good cause now with this thing being so much lighter the CBOB might see alot less duty but alas it'll be in it's normal position straight up at 3 oclock whenever the van leaves the property.
