MFS .45 ACP FMJ with reloadable brass cases. ... $14.88 a box of 50!

YMMV with this ammo, but it's CHEAP!

Not quite as good a deal, but cheaperthandirt.com has American Eagle 230gr. FMJ for $95.00 and 230gr Ranger T series for $26.00 a box.

Just thought I'd throw that out.

I figure that it will go bang in at least ONE of my .45's. I just bought the aluminum-cased 230-gr .45's for $15.99 a box about 2 weeks ago, forgoing the MFS for $15.88, but the lower $14.88 a box of 50 AND $20 off the deal, was just too good.

I can get AAA re-manufactured TMJ at the range for $17 + tax. It shoots well and really seems powerful. I don't see the need for +P using the 230-gr ammo, but remember that when I used to reload, I loaded 230-gr "flying ashtrays" for the range and whatever at 1000+ fps... easily +P, but a safe book load.

I was about 14 when I shot my first .45... a 1917 revolver with half-moon clips that my stepfather had. he was in the Navy during WWII and had an M-1 carbine that I shot as well... without permission!

Gotta be cheaper than that to beat WalMart. WWB at $35 plus tax for 100 rounds, compare to two boxes of 50 at $14.88 plus shipping. The shipping will likely put it over.

I bought half a case three times this month at Cabela's and paid no tax... $5 shipping once... free shipping once and used the $20 coupon the last time... free shipping was only $15.95 saved. I beat the heck out of Walmart, AND got the ammo delivered to the door.

Walmart raised prices... cheapest .45 FMJ... Federal Champion is up $2 to $18.99 + tax, totaling $20.32 and $35.97x1.07= $38.49 for 100 rounds of WW**. I got reloadable brass ammo for LESS than $15 a box. Now I need some .40S&W.

**I don't consider the steel-cased stuff.

I looked at components at the last gun show and saw some .45 FMJ bullets for about 15¢ each and cleaned , once-fired brass was 7¢ a case... 22¢ before powder and primer! I didn't check out all of the prices... I wasn't buying the stuff, but I priced .380 when it was scarce and I can buy new ammo cheaper. I don't reload any more, but someone will use the brass.
