Today I took my new CM9 to the range for the first time after a careful cleaning. Fired 43 rounds of American Eagle 115 gr FMJ and 7 rounds of American Eagle 147 gr FMJ without any issues except that on 2 magazines of the 115 gr the slide failed to lock back. All rounds fed and ejected properly. Is there something I need to check concerning the lockback mechanism?

It should work itself out in the next range trip. Mine did that a few times in my first 50, then straightened out. Did you rack it 500 times before taking it to the range? I also left my slide locked back for several hours before the first time I used it.
Keep at it, and put about 150 more through it. Should slick up quickly.

kmore rounds does wonders for the gun and the shooter. slide not locking back sometimes is a loose grip[. You will get it right, I see no issues..

Today was the second trip to the range. I had purchased an aftermarket ProMag 7 round magazine to try. The factory 6 round magazine performed flawlessly with Winchester White Box 115 gr FMJ for 60 rounds. The ProMag had 2 failures to feed and 2 failures to lock back after the last round. The follower is a different shape than the factory mag which may have something to do with the problems. I will give it a good cleaning and try it again. I am very pleased with the accuracy. On the next range trip I will try some SD ammo and see how it feeds.

^^ What Jocko said! They generally aren't well thought off in the various gun communities. They may make some mags for some brands that work well, but haven't had a lot of good luck with Kahrs.
