Installing ss Guide rod on MK9

I have a new ss guide rod for my MK, taking apart the old one was easy I put a thin piece of metal rod in the hole at the end of the guide rod and popped out the end. When I put the SS rod together where does the threaded side go. On the inside or the front side of the gun.

If I remember right the threaded end is on the outside or the front side of the gun. Make sure you use lock tite because I was thinking if this pops off I will never find it. I installed a Bedair guide rod.
