Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.
My old school classic P220/45 has resurfaced for
a makeover and a movie.
https://www.t-mobilepictures.com/myalbum/photos/photo11/21/d6/b5617a557189__1313271879000.jpg
The movie was Columbiana.
Well-acted, good characters/story and stylish directing.
A polished action movie for a summer afternoon.
If you liked Zoe in The Losers, as I did, this is a fast interesting ride.
Movies in general have been a devastating disappointing the last few years.
Finally something watchable comes along when I least expected it.
http://www.onlinemovieshut.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/colombiana-latest-movie-poster.jpg
This prompted me to upgrade my P220.
So off to the gunsmith for a 100,000 mile tune up, Sig Sauer spring kit,
action job, XS Big Dot 24/7 Express night sights, Bar-Sto match stainless barrel,
Bedair stainless guide rod and an extended 10 round Sig Sauer stainless magazine.
I can’t wait for my girl to come back from her makeover!
I just finished my half rack of BBQ ribs!

Enjoy every day like it's your last!
UPDATE:
Got an email from Steve Bedair today.
Thanked me for the stainless guide rod order.
Notified me that it will be shipped on Tuesday.
And wished me a Happy Holiday!

Happy Birthday jfootin. Hope it was a good one.

Aren't you the one always clamoring for photographic evidence?
What does this ultimate cake look like my friend - LOL!

Happy Birthday, Jfootin! Hope everyone has a great holiday. I'm going shopping for a Nissan Frontier Crew Cab tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Hmmm, all I did was get a migraine from the sawdust... still refinishing bedroom for the gal pal. Today - old school baseboard - wide stuff, all natural wood color, which means tight fits, only putty on the nail holes. Which followed the floor I installed, the walls and ceiling I painted, the closet I refabbed, the pocket door I reset, and the furniture I moved.
I'm done. For today

(but I really loathe pocket doors)

If you don't already have one, you're gonna love the Nissan Frontier 4 Door. I drove the King Cab model since 1983 then switched to the Frontier 4 door when it became available. I hated to abandon American made vehicles, but when it came down to the compact models I needed for my work trucks, the American made products abandoned my quality wise.
and other than all the birthdays happening, what's all the hubbub about a holiday. What holiday are we celebrating that warrants shutting down the (already reduced) productivity of the country? Socialist Worker Bee Day?

Well, my beautiful bride and I celebrated our 45th anniversary yesterday and today, will tomorrow too. Here's a piece of advice though for those contemplating marriage. Do not make it on a holiday!!!!!!!! We can't go anywhere or do anything on our actual day because of all the people. If I were picking a date, it would be mid October when seasonal travel rates and price of gas has dropped and no other travel type holidays around it. May not care much when young but you will after 20 or so years.

Congrats on the anniversary! That's tremendous! 45 years of hearing your stories over and over and over and over again is what I would hear from my bride. I just tell her that I am glad she can still hear (and then I run for cover!).

Congratulations! I'll have to make it to almost 85 to reach our 45th... which would make my bride a young 75.

Nice. Maybe you could put a open mason jar in it for a couple days and then quickly seal the lid on it and send it to me so I can experience that new car smell!
I've never had it myself although I do take advantage of anyone I meet who gets a new car. Nothing like new car smell in the whole world. I know the air freshner folks have tried to match it for years with less than perfect success.
If I could make it I'd have to hire people to count my money.
Happy new truck to you Melissa.

Very nice Melissa.
Congratulations on the new toy.
I had a 1988 Toyota 4x4 that I put 389,000 miles on.
Wish the U.S. could make trucks like Toyota and Nissan.
My 1990 Honda Accord has 189K and is looking for a place to lay down - LOL!
I'm saving for a used/fresh Mustang GT to satisfy my latest every 10 year age crisis.
So late next year, or early 2013???

+1 on the happy truck! :)
B, I used to get hanging air fresheners at a car wash in Atlanta that had the new car smell. People would comment on it when they got in the car, so it must have been pretty genuine smelling.
BTW, I PMed you asking for some help and you're ignoring me. :(

+1 on that.
No new cars for me either.
And at my age it's looking very much like never going to happen - LOL!
Off Topic:
Almost bought a NIB 640-1 Pro Series today.
I just can't do it.
Upgraded my 342 where it's absolutely perfect.
The 640 is the same size but 22/23 oz.
The thing is at that size and weight I've got my MK40 Elite.
It shoots better, carries better, and the 40 puts 450 FPE on target.
5 guns are enough for now...

I PM'd ya back. I don't ignore but it's nice outside here and I'm tinkering around in the garage, (getting to hot), the man cave (more comfy but inside) and outside stuff. Getting warm enough just to sort of sit and enjoy rather than accomplish anything.
Got the cross country team my sons on coming over in a couple hours for barbecue and play around all night so I'm sure I'll be getting running orders very soon. Been monitoring the smoker all morning. It's for the children.

Happy new truck to you Melissa.
It's not exactly new. It was a demo that their service manager had been driving for 7k miles. It looks new, but it only has that nearly new smell. Since it had never been titled to anyone, I was able to get new car interest rates though. Plus, it had a few upgrades that the new truck did not.
I've only had one really new vehicle. They lose too much value as soon as you drive them off the lot.
