Using K9 magazines in a PM9?

I read on the Kahr site that you can use K9 magazines in a PM9.
I thought they’d be good for backup mags since they hold 8 rounds vs 7 (extended PM9 mag).

Do they work as reliably in the PM9 as PM9 mags?

Yes, all the Kahr mags will fit and work fine. The K mag holds 7 rounds and the T mag holds 8. You can get the 7 round extended mag that gives you a finger rest too if that's a concern.

You are correct. The mags for the T series are also labeled K920. Both the K920 and K920G will fit the K, P, CW, PM, or MK models. The Kahr numbering system doesn't always follow to a logical end.

Has anyone ever deciphered the Kahr serial numbering system?
