This is my first time here on KahrTalk. I recently bought a Kahr PM9 with night sights and I love it. I can't say enough good things about it. The only problem is that I haven't had a chance to carry it yet because I don't have any holsters for it. I was thinking about getting a pocket holster, a IWB holster, and maybe a AIWB holster.
For the pocket holster I was thinking about getting either a Desantis Super Fly or an Alabama Holster Company pocket holster. What do you guys think and why?
For the IWB I was thinking about getting a Crossbreed Minituck or a Minotaur MTAC? What do you think and why?
I didn't see any AIWB holsters I liked that much besides the Garrity's Gunleather IN-VICTUS but it is $170 and that is a lot of money for a holster. It looks like the best appendix holster on the market though.
Suggestions please.

i just got this kydex holster from pjholster.com today. it has an extremely thin profile, quick turn around time for production (2 days), can and will be made to your specific request if you need something special, and only costs $40. he can do pocket holsters as well if that's what you want. just give paul a call or shoot him an email and you'll probably have a response in the same day.

if you want to spend a little more money, a lot of people have good reports of the garrett silent thunder line up.

they also make one specifically for appendix carry for 3" barrels

For the IWB I would select the MTAC of the 2 choices you gave.
The crossbreed is a cheap copy, most people like to say they are the best because they haven't tried any others.

+1 for the Super Fly. It's a great pocket holster. Their Nemesis is also very nice. I own both and kind of swap them around for my PM9 and PM45 for pocket carry.

Well, I have a brand new Super Fly holster for a PM9 for sale here:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=8306
I got this nice high ride Open Top Belt Holster (http://www.taguagunleather.com/new/open-top-leather-belt-holster-p21) from Tagua for $45 shipped, and it is fully lined at that price.
http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee486/John_England/My%20Custom%20CM9/MyCM9inTaguaHolster.jpg
I got a pocket holster that works surprisingly well at minimizing the bulk and printing. It looks large in the pic, but it is very thin because it is horsehide, and the way it comes together to thin edges front and back really smooths the outline. It moves a little bit when I draw, but it doesn't come out of the pocket, so I have learned to ignore the movement. It is the El Paso Pocket Max and I got a real good price on it at Holsters Unlimited (http://gunholstersunlimited.com/el-paso-pocket-max-pocket-holster-ambidextrous-natural-kahr-pm9-pm40-mk9-mk40-pmpm9-1.html?cat_id=79). Here it is...
http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee486/John_England/Miscellanious%20Guns%20and%20Holsters/ElPasoPocketMaxHolster.jpg
There is no printing at all in my jeans when I'm standing. There's a bulge there when I'm sitting, but not too distinguishable as a gun. It's very comfortable and pretty easy to draw from, even when sitting. It is also easy to re-holster the gun, too, because the stiff horsehide stays open.

I just put up a video about my experience with holsters and specifically what I settled on for the CM9, a Cell Pal one IWB from Kahr, and a homemade back pocket holster. Check it out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0rKSIP8afQ).
If you are looking for a quality leather holster (and looking for an alternative to Rosen, Alessi & Sparks)- give a shout to Tim Thurner over at TT Gun Leather. Super nice guy, who is extremely knowledgeable regarding the ins and outs of leather and holster making. He is also associated with the Occidental holster brand. This is my second holster from Tim. The most recent holster is a custom OWB configuration for my PM9. Pics to come soon.

Welcome Jeep!
LarryD said he was also interested in a IWB holster. The PM9 fits terrific in a Garrett Silent Thunder (http://garrettindustries.mybigcommerce.com/products/Silent-Thunder-IWB.html). That's a Kydex shell lined with premium soft leather to protect the guns finish. I've had mine for over a year now and wear it almost daily. It conceals very well and is comfortable. If you don't wear an undershirt you'll find the Kydex is cool on the skin without causing sweating like leather. Should you sweat anyway, it won't harm the holster or gun.
The Garrets are really good people and stand solidly behind their products. They go for $85 but were on sale recently. I don't know but they may give you a break if you call and ask them. Be sure to mention you were referred by Kahr talk.

There isn't anything different between them besides the finish and the flap correct? If that's the case than I'll probably just get the Super Fly for the hell of it. If I don't use the flap it will be the same thing as the Nemesis.

This is essentially correct. The finish is supposedly a little tackier on the Super Fly, but I used to have a Nemesis for a .25acp pocket gun I used to own and there isn't much difference. Both holsters stay put in your pocket very well. The only other difference is a thin strip of Velcro hook along the front edge of the Super Fly that you attach the flap to.

I also recently bought a PM9 and was faced with the same situation. As an inexpensive short term solution, until I could decide which holster I really wanted, then wait for it to arrive, I bought a Blackhawk nylon IWB No. 5. It was less than $20 and I got it off the shelf at Bass Pro Shop. The gun fits nicely but there is no retention. I am reluntant to wear it on or behind my hip for fear that gun could work itself up and out of the holster. I wear it AIWB. For a more permanent solution I decided on a #1KB Cantable Clip holster from Fist Holsters, but it will be a few weeks before it arrives. It is shown in the New Holsters and Options section of their website. http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/k1/1KB.htm

Hi, Welcome to KahrTalk!
I can talk knowledgeably about the two pocket holsters you mention. I have three Nemesis holsters for other than Kahr and a modified by me Alabama holster for my PM9. The Nemesis is a fine pocket holster but it does add a lot of thickness to your pocket carry over a Kydex holster, the model with the flap will add even more thickness but on the plus side should eliminate any printing hint of gun. I would not use the Alabama and probably most other Kydex pocket holsters without them being modified to ensure they'll stay in your pocket while allowing for a smooth, fast draw.
Another route to go is the Remora no-clip holster. In my opion it will serve OK for both an IWB and pocket holster.

Along the same line of an affordable and quick solution, the Remora Series 4 Holster (http://www.remoraholsters.net/Remora-Series-4-Holster-Pocket-IWB-1SMA4.htm) is just $24.95, and it can be used IWB, Appendix, and front pocket. They even have a version that also works as an Ankle Rig (http://www.remoraholsters.net/Remora-Series-4L-3-in-1-Holster-Right-Handed-SERIES-4L-RH.htm) for a little more money. I would recommend the Sweat Shield option ($5) for IWB wear. Everybody that has one likes it and they say it stays put inside your waistband without a clip or any other attachment—amazing! I intend to get one with the 2 options mentioned for my CM9.

Personally, Bill, I don't see that as a problem that can't be solved with a little practice. The much greater problem is if you are carrying IWB under a loose shirt and the slide of your gun is against your bare skin. Not good for you or your gun. Even with an OWB holster, I find the lack of a sweat shield to be a problem with gun metal touching bare skin if the holster keeps the gun tight against your body. But IWB, it is guaranteed to be a problem. (Opinion from one whose holster mistakes box has, and has in the past, had quite a few residents.)

Of the 2 choices you mentioned the MTAC is the better holster as far as quality goes.

Yeah I might just get another MTAC for the Kahr. I could just buy a shell for the one I have but I rather be able to have them both in a holster. I will probably get the Super Fly instead of the Nemesis just because it is basically the same thing without the flap.

Hmmm, sounds VERY interesting AND affordable. I may seriously look into this to compliment my Tagua OWB leather that I wear with my suit coats. I know it's not the most popular way to carry, and certainly not the most effecting on the draw, but an ankle holster would give my dress casuals better concealment than pocket or tuckables. Any major criticisms or comments about this option for my PM9?

Just started using a "Silent Thunder" IWB Kydex with leather lining. Very small and comfortable.
Also just received an OWB from Alabama Holster. Looks nice but I am waiting for the cool weather:D to try it out:D:D
In the hot sticky weather of S.E. Florida, I am finding that the Silent Thunder is the best. I like it better than my Rosen Clipper, which is all leather and picks up more moisture than the Kydex.
I will try to get some photos up by morning.

Okay, here's my opinion about Remora's 3-in-1 Series 4L holster system:
The Good
1. Fantastic Customer Service (friendly, knowledgable, fast)
2. Affordable
3. Great intentions to provide versatility at a fraction of the cost
4. The "sticky" material really works great, as advertised.
5. It fits my PM9 like a glove.
The Bad
1. The ankle option is not worth the effort. I spent 2 days trying every possible option (both legs, inside/out, tight, loose, high, low, w/cant, w/o cant). Regardless of my attempts, it left my ankle bone bruised and very tender. There are no additional support straps to hold the thing in place. The lack of padding to make a slimmer pocket carry option hurts this ankle option greatly! Not even close to comfortable or acceptable. This option was a key reason I went with Remora.
2. The IWB option is "ok" but still does not give me the confidence and comfort I expect. You cannot tuck in your shirt (though I knew this before), and you must wear your shirt untucked or a jacket to cover it. Though the sticky material feels like it keeps your gun from slipping down, it's feels a bit more bulky than it should be for IWB. To get the confidence of carry, I have to cinch up my belt so tight that I sacrifice comfort. Better than nothing, but not worth it.
3. The pocket option is "ok", too, but still a bit too bulky for my small frame. I tried it on 2 different type pockets (casual, dress), but the battle of the bulge left me wanting a more slim pocket carry. Again, better than nothing, but not sure if it was worth the "3-in-1" price.
Verdict: I may send it back and request a Pocket Carry Only. It's about $10 cheaper than what I paid, and I know their Customer Service (Alan) would gladly make the exchange to keep me happy. Still a bit bummed about the ankle option not working, so my search for the right ankle holster continues....

I have a $12 Blackhawk #4 pocket holster and really don't see the need for anything else. I have a CT on my CM9, but if you do not, a #3 fits well.

I have the #3 Blackhawk described above, it does fit the PM9 very well.
My ONLY concern is that it's made of rather soft cloth, and although I've tried without success to pull the trigger through it, I feel as though it 'could' happen.
And yes, my attempts were made with an empty gun in a safe location and not pointed at anything I wouldn't mind destroying.

As mentioned in my earlier post, I'm not that impressed with Remora, but I don't expect that to put Remora out of business. For my britches, Remora's pocket carry in the 3-in-1 version is too bulky. This is likely due to the fact that you have to add another layer of the sticky material to cover the velcro for the other options.
I'll probably go back to Mike #3....

here are a few more options from pj holster. the kydex pocket holster is extremely thin and doesn't print or add any bulk at all. it is also very comfortable to carry if your pockets will fit the gun. the iwb is a great holster as well, but of the two i prefer the pocket because it frees up my waistline.
someone else suggested TT Gunleather, if you don't mind paying the price he makes the absolute best leather holsters available on the market, and his production times are down to 8-10 weeks currently. they are normally around 22-24 weeks so you may want to jump all over that, i just ordered a snap removeable pancake holster last night similar to the one posted below for my glock 19, only in black.

I watched the videos. Kind of neat. Unique concept. I like the heavy set middle aged guy who demonstrated drawing techniques. Proves that it will work for us guys with middle aged spread. Looks like it will work for any sized gun, even larger ones, but the smaller pocket guns like the Kel-Tec kind of get lost down in it. Looks like your CW9 fits OK. But costing above $90 by the time you pay $60 for the holster, $27 for the cell phone case with the J-hook, and shipping. Enough to give a skin flint like me some hesitation.
